Wow great Miami-Philadelfia series. Only one point win by Heat in a decisive game. Good that Dallas won against Houston. They should win against Denver easily.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 4:10 am

Wow yeah great Miami - Philly series. Houston didn't make it and some nice NBA Conference Finals. I mean:

Dallas - Denver (Dirk vs K-Mart) excellent match-up I predict Dallas will make it 3-1

Miami - Detroit a clasic let's say  hmm I say Miami will win 3-2 :)

hova- wrote:thank you  , well I didnt get any ticket, that sucks, I tried to but no chance, many of my mates got tickets.
But today we will make a big party with big screen and stuff.
Well we should win this group, but never underestimate those small countries(soccer-wise).
And Ballack wont play today, he is out with calf-problems.
Sucks that Romania didnt qualify, there was some big rebuilding and I like those new Romanian players. And Steaua and Rapid made the Uefa cup semi finals

Well a nice start for Germany and 2 fabulous goals. Yeah I know sucks big time especially for me that Romania didn't qualify :? And btw unfortunately only Steaua made the semis :(

What an incredible effort by the Denver Nuggets and their leader Carmelo Anthony (28 PPG). The Nuggets win over the Mavericks and will go to their first NBA-finals (ABA finals 75/76).

Sat Jun 10, 2006 7:57 pm

That's amazing.. Never thought that Denver's gonna make it so far...

A little bit late this season, but finally the NBA continued the NBA awards for the 2005/2006 season and named Chris Duhon the Most Improved Player Of The Year.

ImageImageImage
Duhon, a big factor for the Bulls success reaching the postseason for the 2nd consecutive time, showed that he has adapted to the NBA and played his first big season. He averaged 17.7 points, 6.4 assists and 1.7 steals next to 3.9 rebounds in 35.9 minutes per game.
In 10 minutes per game of more playing time than last season, he scored 10 PPG more and shot .38%, better than his .35% from last season.
Chris Duhon is a member of the young Bulls squad, which should make it in the next few years after the failed to get past the 1st round two times now.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 9:29 pm

Wow incredible effort by the Melo & Co. And what a match-up in the NBA Finals Melo vs Prince and K-Mart vs Sheed 8-)

Nice to see Duhon taking the MIP award (Y)

The Finals are incoming, the two best teams of East and West play out the NBA champion.
Who will win the Larry O`Brien trophy ?
Two strong defensive teams go at each other.
The Nuggets may rely on Carmelo Anthony, but may profit from their good inside presence in Martin and Camby.
The Pistons have the most balanced offense and play the best defense of the league.
Let´s head into this in our

Image

Center

ImageImage
Marcus Camby and Ben Wallace are a very similar type of player.
The defensive powerhouse, the stopper, the inside presence.

Marcus Camby plays a great season averaging 16.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. His shot-blocking is still amazing with 2.04 blocks per game. Camby is more than a role player, he scores better than Denver´s 2nd big man Kenyon Martin and is fast enough to create a shot for himself.

Ben Wallace is the Defensive Player Of The Year. He averages 10.5 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. He set a career high in steals per game with 2.17 and blocks 2.3 shots per game.
"Big Ben" has improved his game and is the leader of Detroit´s defense.
He makes it almost impossible to drive through Detroit´s lane and is able to catch weak passes.

Although Camby is bigger, Wallace is the stronger player.
Small advantage for the Pistons.

Power Forward

ImageImage
Kenyon Martin is a worker. He hasn´t developed into the go-to-guy, but has accepted that Melo is the franchise player and works hard for the team. Only scoring 11.0 points per game, Martin tries to grab the boards and helps out at the defensive end. He is averaging 9.0 rebounds and 1.72 blocks per game.

Rasheed Wallace is the key to the Pistons´ success. After his trade Detroit became a championship contender and in this season he is the leader on the court.
Rasheed averages career high 21.4 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game.
With 2 blocks per game he combines with Ben Wallace for a twin tower connection. He is still a down-town thread and is still agile.

Rasheed is the key for the Pistons. Advantage Pistons.

Small Forward

ImageImage
Carmelo Anthony has his first career year. He has improved in almost every category. He was the 2nd best scorer with 28.2 points per game, grabbed 8 boards per game and dished out 4.6 assists per game.
His defense is still not the best but 1.37 steals per game sound good.
He is the key of Denver´s offense and is carrying the whole team.

Tayshaun Prince is the most underrated player in the NBA.
Prince is a very strong 1on1 defender and will have his hands full with Carmelo Anthony.
But with 16.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game his stats sound pretty good. He also adds 1.76 block to make the Piston´s frontcourt the best shotblocking frontcourt of the league.

Melo is the key and on of the league´s best scorer, Prince fits into the Pistons lineup but is weaker. Advantage Nuggets.

Shooting Guard

ImageImage
Greg Buckner is playing a solid season. But he takes too many shots, although he is only shooting .409% (12.1 PPG).
The Nuggets don´t have many alternates, Ruben Patterson is a good swing man but doesn´t have a good enough shot for a two guard.

Richard Hamilton is the topscorer of the Pistons. He is averaging 23.1 points per game on a very strong shooting. (.510% !)
Hamilton has the best off the ball game of the league using screen like no one other. His mid range shot has developed into a strong weapon, but he can also drive to the basket.
He is also a good passer with 4.6 assists per game.

The Nuggets have a SG problem. Big advantage Pistons.

Point Guard
[
ImageImage
Andre Miller is more than a solid point guard in these days. Well known as one of the league´s premium passer he turned out to be a good scorer this season.
He is the 2nd best scorer with 16.3 points per game and dishes out the most assists with 6.3. His main problem, the shooting, has still not improved, but his driving ability is very difficult to handle since he is very quick.

Chauncey Billups, Finals MVP two years ago, is still one of the league´s top 5 point guards.
Billups has everything a point guard needs. He has the court vision (6.5 APG), the ability to create shots for himself (20.9 PPG), a very solid three point jump shot (.387%) and is quick enough to defend smaller guys (1.76 SPG).
Billups is also known for his big shots in critical situations and for his good freethrow shooting (.921%)

Billups is better than Miller, but Andre is a big player for the Nuggets.
Advantage Pistons.

Nice preview of the finals, Prince is very underrated, I look forward to see how he performs against Melo (Y)

Thu Jun 15, 2006 2:09 am

I do believe Detroit will win this one, but Nuggets are one of my favorite teams...

Thu Jun 15, 2006 2:20 am

Nice preview. I think Detroit should win it, but I'm not so sure. Knowing that strange things are happening in live06, Denver can win it really.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 2:31 am

Wow, the Nuggets of all teams in the play-offs. I want Melo to win a ring :proud: .

Nice finals preview, too bad your team isn't in there.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:27 am

Great preview (Y) I want Denver to win. Melo is one of my favorite players in the NBA. But it will be very tough for Denver. D-troit has the big advantage

Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:38 am

sweet preview (Y) i am gonna have to go with the pistons to win this one.

Just one day before game one of the NBA finals, the NBA named Allen Iverson the Most Valuable Player of the 2005/2006 season.

ImageImageImage
Iverson showed once again he is among the top 3 guards leading the league in scoring (28.7 PPG) and steals (2.45 SPG) and also being under the top 10 in assists (6.5 APG) and minutes played (40.6 MPG).
But the biggest suprise was his shooting.
Formerly known as a "gunner", "AI" has improved in his shot selection and shot amazing .523% from the field and respectable .385% from downtown.
For Allen Iverson this is the 2nd regular season MVP award after 2000-2001. He has also won his third All-Star game MVP award this season.
There is no doubt that Allen Iverson was the key for the Sixer entering the playoffs and managing the second round (3-2 vs MIA).
So after Steve Nash we have again a guard winning the MVP trophy.

Thx for your comments guys Finals game 1 score will be posted later :)

AI posted some awesome stats!

Go Nuggets!!!

Thu Jun 15, 2006 10:09 pm

I say it is realistic, knowing that his shooting was good and his team went far this year. Good job by AI

Thu Jun 15, 2006 10:21 pm

kool dynasty! (Y)

Fri Jun 16, 2006 1:01 am

Well in reality I'd say it's not the best choice, but because in Live MVP is decided by stats, so I'm satisfied...
