Once again.. bad font selection for that particular sig.. it looks okay but it definately could look a lot better.

Quick question: how much time are you spending on each sig?

For the text, I'd say this...

The placement of the two main text pieces is pretty bad, especially with the kinds of font you're using you don't want them just floating around... that being said, I actually think the SRBIJA text looks quite good... for the background, my main problem is that the "GROCERY" is really noticeable, takes away some of the attention.

Easy. Find one that fits. I have the eye for this kind of thing but you may not. Text has always been one of my strong points in my artwork. Another thing I didn't like about that Nelly signature was that yellow/piss glow around the text AND the text seemed to be competiting with the background (Jae's right).

My ONE and most important tip would be to TAKE YOUR TIME. You also need to experiment over and over different techniques. I'm just here to help, remember that.

I think the problem with the text is that it's floating in the middle of the sig. Try to anchor it against something, like U3D's. If you have one line of text, it can look okay if you float it in the middle, but two lines looks bad.

Your text looks like you just threw it on. Where you place the text is just as important as the font.

Colin's the master at this, but you definitely should use Layer Effects.

Anyways, every watch out. Here comes THE layer effect. It is the kind of all layer effects. Wait for it....

The "High Pass" filter.

It is found under Filters-->Other, and if you duplicate your layer, use this filter, and set to soft light you get great contrast. For example:

With high pass layer (set to about 10 pixels I think) set on soft light.

And you can even add some colour balance to get it to work well with the colours in you background.

Yeah, you have to look through the brushes for ones that say 'made with 6.0'. It sucks, I know; I have 7.0 and there's hardly any brushes available.

Can you tell me where it says that because I can only see it when the dude that made it writes it in his post and what does CS mean? lol

Btw, Does anyone know any good brushes for 6.0 because most of them are not compatible.

You have to read the little comment the dude makes afterwards; sometimes there isn't one though. CS is a version of Photoshop, it comes after 7.0 (I think), and after it is CS2.

The text on the second one is alot better, the only thing that lets the sig down is the pic of 2Pac. Different/better pic without the drop shadow thing and it'd look really good.

Yeah, I was going to say the drop shadow kills it.

I like the background because I done that colour balance thing. I found the pic in My Pictures, you know the ones that already come with your PC.

Well the Sims one is too plain to really stand out, but there soccer one is alright I think nothing too fancy but it gets the job done.

Like CK said, I am still learning Photoshop and I don't even have any brushes or whatnot.

My first Tupac sig was bloody hopeless, lol.

I feel that my The Game V2 was pretty good and my Mateja Kezman sig.

The new Steve Nash one. I was just mainly trying new techniques with the background and stuff (the background is a picture of a wave )
