I accidently opened a player portrait big file with ACDSee and now all of my portrait files look like this:

What do i need to do to make them back to look like a regular file like this:

I think you have to right click on the file, then go to properties. Once in properties, you can click on the general tab(if it is not there by default). There, you'll see a line that says "Opens with". That line has a button next to it called "change". Click on it and a list of recommended programs come up. If your normal program you open it with isn't suggested, then you can click on browse, and choose the program you want to use.

If your OS isn't in english, then I can give you screenshots of what to do.

as long as the extension of the file is the same it doesn't matter what icon shows up in your explorer...

I think it does matter, because if he has that present icon, then double-clicking it won't open the necessary program directly. If he has say the dbf commander icon, then double-clicking would open it in dbf immediately. Much easier, instead of browsing to the required program all the time.
