Hey the X, I got your stats this morning...Thank you! And of course, thanks for proactively sending me your Live Card! I'll be doing your shout out here...hopefully tonight when I get home.

I hope the sign in on liveGMC and upload process went smoothely. Later on the off-season of Live '06(hopefully August) I'd like to get together with you and a panel of liveGMC vets on an MSN meeting to have a brainstorming meeting for '07 on how we can get liveGMC a'hoppin now that we kind of have two+ years under our belts and see the strengths and weaknesses that have been shown.

I really feel that '07 is the year for liveGMC now that I'm more confident in certain areas of programming and we can really improve the NBA Live Dynasty mode experience... ...all in the name of NBA LIVE!

BLAZERS MONTHLY RECAP - MARCH 2007

The February 23 comeback win in Miami might have been the most important game of the season for the Portland Trailblazers. The reason: the team finally came together & despite losing in Toronto, the Blazers believed that they could make the playoffs. Fast forward to the end of March: Portland goes a superb 6-1 for the month to finish March with a winning record of 15-14, and in great position to earn one of the low playoff seeds. Outside of a tough loss against the Suns, the Blazers played as well as they could, as coach Nate McMillan trialled a different rotation late in games & it worked, as the team didn't squander opportunities as they have done in the past.

A big reason for the team's success in March was the emergence of rookies Andrew "The X" Watson & Severin Harding, who were used effectively late in close games. Both rookies had their best stretch of play for the season (Watson - 7.2ppg, 1.3apg, 83.3% FT, clutch shooting; Harding - 5.2ppg, 3.4rpg, clutch defense & rebounding) & both proved that they can not yet be written off as busts. McMillan also used his bench extensively & went with whoever had the hot hand, whether it was Jarrett Jack, Mo Peterson or Watson.

Portland has no games in April, so it will be a month where the Blazers wait and see whether they will be in the playoffs. Looking at the teams around them, the Blazers should be able to squeak in to the 7th or 8th playoff spot, provided nothing dramatic happens in the next month.

what can I say?!? he's pretty soft on the defensive end I guess....more likely excuse is that I've got 3 other shotblockers on my roster - Big Joel Przy-bizz, Thin Theopold Ratliff & Ed Griff....all those guys are doing the dirty work, which leaves Zach to only worry about his offensive game :P

cheers, so do I....I'm predicting our 1st game to be somewhere between Sit's 1st game & a good outing :P

so....what are we gonna predict in apri with no games to play?? anyway, nice recap...and good luck on making the playoffs.

Mon May 01, 2006 8:15 pm

Good work X! (Y) Looks like you're making an impact in ur rookie season too! And my Pacers are looking like having a crack at making it too! (Y)

And just noticed ur Fighting Irsish update: Looks like you guys should have fun in the first game!

Just so you know... the Fakers opened the season with a 33-20 loss. We won the last quarter 12-7 and the first quarter 6-4 but the other team controlled the game in the middle two quarters... we only managed 2 points. However, it was a good loss cause we played real good D... this is a team that beat us by 40 in the preseason. So it was a good effort. And when u said practise... we've had practise too! I ended up teaching them a simple version of the triangle offence (Y)

...from the Chronicles of the 2006 Birdie Project:(info)

The X's Portland 2006-07 end of season Birdie Breakdown:
Image
Once again The X uses pure brut force to get the job done as for a record 16th out of 17 submissions (Gilbert Arenas, a PG was the only exception), his Team MVP is a PF. Zach Randolph once again takes Team MVP honors with a weighted Birdie efficiency score of 24.14 - and his 'reversible' LiveCard is now enabled.

The X's time has finally come as he's somehow managed to crack the top 25:
This Dynasty instance is currently ranked #25 on the Official 2006 Birdie Board

Image
(view entire list here)

The qualifers:
Z. Randolph 23.5 ppg (ranks 6th)
Z. Randolph 10.3 rpg (ranks 5th)
S. Telfair 6.7 apg (ranks 5th)
D. Miles 1.28 spg (ranks 8th)
J. Przybilla 1.71 bpg (ranks 10th)
Z. Randolph 0.549 field goal% (ranks 5th)
M. Webster 0.877 free throw% (ranks 5th)
M. Peterson 0.406 3 point% (ranks 5th)

HonorGlow: Hopefully I'll get a genome warrior to be my Team MVP...although if this ever happens, he's no doubt going to be a PF

you guys can just predict the awards for the month....so no penalties involved for the month, so is worth giving it a crack....

will maybe have predictions for End of Season Awards, but probably won't do that until closer to the playoffs....

cheers, yep, the rooks finally had an impact....my guy had a big impact on at least 3 of the games for that month, so I've gotta be proud that he's finally stepping up to the plate

as for the Fakers, can't believe the score was so low....33-20....damn....we play same length of quarters as you & no stoppage on clock, but lowest scoring game I've seen is around 43-38, but that is a rarity, with most games having both teams in the high 40's to 50's....some games can get out to the 60-100 range, but not as likely....

but yep, game should be fun....our team only has 5 players at the moment, so that means no reserves....we are all unfit apart from one of us who is bulked up....he's the Ben Wallace of the team, grabbing boards & blocking shots....we have only 2 players 6 feet or taller (me & another guy) & we will probably be the go-to-guys on the team as we have the only recognisable bball background out of the team....funnily enough, both of us play more like SG's than big men, so our team is a bit back to front....the rest of the guys don't have too much experience or just aren't very good, but each has their role & strengths & weaknesses....we have no great ballhandler, so we'll all help out where needed....we'll be playing a 2-3 zone....but we will play it very tight & dare the other team to shoot the long ball, as not many people outside of me can consistently hit the trey....I figure most of the guys don't know how to defend so we may as well play negative basketball & crowd the defensive lane so the other team gets no easy baskets & the defensive boardwork is a little easier....as the team improves, I may be tempted to run a 1-3-1 zone but we'll see....if we're behind, I'll eventually teach the guys a basic halfcourt trap....can't really do full-court as most of us are unfit....looking forward to Wednesday though :P
