I like what you've done here, even though seeing Juan/Steve Blake/Viktor, etc gone is sad... it's still a good read.

My Gosh it's Donatello! Haven't seen you in fricken ages! I don't know if you've seen the recent liveGMC but I put you down as one of the credited 'founding fathers'

...just curious what happened on your side of things! ANyway, I guess that's PMworthy...and not on The X's dynasty.

Anyway the X...I don't run into you on MSN messenger anymore? What's up? Man, the Blazers...what's up with Randolph?!?!?

Now that it's past the All-Star Break, will you be doing your scouting now?

good to see you pop in....hope you are enjoying life in Oregon :wink: as for the 3, they unfortunately had to be moved....

I'm on MSN right now man, where are you?!? :wink: :lol: as for me, I'm very busy with new job & I'm studying for next couple of years now (kind of on a 3-month on, 3-month off system of study) so I guess I'm disappearing like you often do :wink: don't fret, dynasty will continue, just have to make sacrifices I guess :roll:

as for Blazers IRL, if it continues, it gives me leverage to deal both Zach & Darius :twisted: although Zach is a saint in my dynasty....he's got a teammate like X to keep him in line :wink:

am a bit busy at the moment so scouting is on the backburner....I will get to it though....eventually :lol:

GAME OF THE TRIMESTER (FEB '07)

Each trimester I will do a quick recap of what I considered to be the best game of the month. This month sees the Portland Trailblazers (8-12), who are coming out of the All-Star break on the back of a 3-game losing streak & really needing a win, travelling to Florida to take on the Miami Heat (9-9).

Feb 23, 2007 - Portland 104 at Miami 100 [4th Qtr INTERVENTION GAME]

Opening the 4th quarter, the Portland Trailblazers found themselves in a strong position, up by 2pts over the Miami Heat. However, led by a very hot Jason Williams, the Heat quickly took the advantage as the Blazers were mediocre at both ends of the court. With Zach Randolph fouling out with 3.02 left on the clock, the Blazers found themselves down 11pts & the game essentially being over, but they couldn't be more wrong.

Blazers' coach Nate McMillan inserted Darius Miles back into the game, but surprised all by putting him at PF. Webster slid to SF & Mo Peterson played the SG spot, with Ratliff manning the pivot & Jarrett Jack running the show. McMillan changed up the team's defense & put them into a full-court press. The dividends of this change were immediate as Jack, Mo & Miles catapulted the Blazers back into it with strong D & fastbreak basketball. With 2 minutes remaining, the Blazers only trailed by 6pts. With 1.30 remaining, the Blazers only trailed by 2pts. Ten seconds later, it was all tied up. Darius Miles made the go ahead basket with 55 seconds left on the clock to give the Blazers a 2pt lead. The Blazers would hit there free throws & not relinquish the lead again, as they held on to win 104-100 win in a dramatic comeback over the Heat.

The Blazers' stats from the 4th quarter were:

With the win Portland moved to 9-12 as the Heat dropped to 9-10 overall. It was a tough win & just what the doctor order to keep the Blazers' playoff hopes alive. With more noble performances like these, the Blazers are a definite shot at not only making the playoffs, but causing problems for their opponents.

STAT LINE OF THE TRIMESTER (FEB '07)

Each trimester I'll post a statistical line that really jumped out at me during the month. It might be an outstanding performance or a very poor performance by a player. Hope you enjoy.

Jan 9, 2005 - Portland 97 vs Philadelphia 90

David Lee can give you bang to the buck, as can be seen by his 10pts (on 5/5 shooting), 8rebs & 1blk game in only 12mins of action. Nate McMillan & the Blazers have come to expect this off the 2nd year forward out of the University of Florida. His number doesn't always get called, especially with the arrival of Eddie Griffin who plays the same positions as him, but when he does, David Lee often makes the most of his time on the court with his hustle & determination around the boards. Lee makes things happen & helped the Blazers get up over the Sixers in this game. As the playoff race tightens, the Blazers will likely look to Lee to give them a spurt of the bench & help them extend their season. He's not all rebounds though, as he showed at the All-Star Weekend where he shocked everyone to become the Slam Dunk Champion. A definite fan favourite already, let's see if he can build on his early success into a long & solid NBA career.

Wow 5 from 5 for David Lee. Nice to see Miles going all 4th quarter clutch.

Lee's points would've been from dunks & layups....3 offensive boards probably equals 6 easy points....Lee's my garbage man....

as for Miles, he has size to man PF at spots & it was effective on this night....he was my go-to-guy :cool:

You're right man, I disappear and then reappear probably more than anybody on this board :roll: It's pretty sad...Software class sucks in that I learn all these cool things that would benefit everybody's dynasties but then I get wrapped up in the homework assignments that I find myself not having any time but to sleep and perhaps play one game of my Dynasty.

Nevertheless I'm glad that you're keeping up with yours. At the end of the off season perhaps we can come up with an application for your prediction scheme that makes your Dynasty so popular!

Finally an update X! Taking long enough! :P

so my prediction thing is what makes my dynasty so popular?!? :cry: it's not in there to get cheap views, it's in there because guys like Sit & others wanted it, not me....it was just a way for NLSC-ers to have some control over their guy's career & a way for me to avoid the inevitable, I want more PT, trade me, blah de blah....it was never meant to be a main thing, just something in the background, a perk for the regular NLSC-ers....but yeah, if there is any way that could automate it all then it would be great :P less time to keep it up to date & not so much emphasis on it....

Sit wrote:Finally an update X! Taking long enough! :P

was gonna do another update right now too, but unfortunately photobucket is doing maintenance....I could've found another host but that takes time that I do not have....I'll do some study, watch Prison Break & then check in at 9.30 to see if photobucket is working....otherwise, my schedule is busy....I've got a focus session after work tomorrow night so won't be home until like 10pm or later....Friday night is a work function....Saturday with gf....so it looks like if I can't update tonight, Sunday night will definitely be the day I do....although I'll probably have to do some study/assignment work too....damn life :lol:

EDIT: Wasn't working so no update until Sunday most likely. Sorry guys.

EDIT #2: It appears Photobucket is finally working for me, but it's 11.30pm & I have to be up at 6.00am, so I'm going to bed. In the meantime, check out the custom made 'Fighting Irish' jerseys that my team will be playing in. Numbers have black stitch around them, just not shown in pic. Hope the Irish logo looks good IRL, but that gives you a general idea of it.

nice...i got a question...how did you add NLSC players and COLLEGE players into the DRAFT? did you put "True" in the GENERATED section and the rest of .dbf?

You're misinterpreting that line...I should have said.."ONE" of the things that makes your dynasty popular...you should know me that I wouldn't try to be offensive like that...we always need to keep an X on our good side you know ;)

Also, authentication works on liveGMC now, so once you get to another submission point, I'm going to ask you to 'Beta test' the pstat uploader!

Thu Apr 20, 2006 8:39 am

nice jersey XD

play more games, less trying to make things :mrgreen:

a couple of wins & some good play is all I'm hoping for....I also hope I can hit 10 3pters in a game....I had 2 games of 5 treys this past season, so maybe I can get a game with 6 or 7 made trifectas, that would be good :P

I know you weren't trying to be offensive....I don't know, don't want to be a gimmick-like dynasty after all the hard work that gets put in....

I'll finish my season soon enough & I'll PM you to let you know....PM me the URL for it when you have the beta version ready :wink:

Anthony15 wrote:nice jersey XD

cheers :cool: I put a little bit of effort into getting a decent colour scheme & logos....they are being made in Hong Kong (no doubt the company is in Hong Kong - one of those dodgey BVI companies no doubt) but they will probably actually be made in Taiwan (a subsidiary company methinks) :lol:

but I'll have them by the end of May at the latest....so won't have them for the first 3-4 games but they're pre-season so won't be too bad to go without them....

Jing wrote:...... wtf X lol.

'The Fighting Irish' are my Number 1 priority :cool: just don't let my gf know that :lol:

iNFaMoUs wrote:nice...i got a question...how did you add NLSC players and COLLEGE players into the DRAFT? did you put "True" in the GENERATED section and the rest of .dbf?

damn, I get PM-ed these questions all the time....so I'm going to make a quick, budget tutorial of what I taught myself & learnt on the way....if anywhere ever asks me again, I will refer them to my 30+ page (or whatever it will be) dynasty & tell them to find my tutorial in there :lol:

I guess you caught me on a strange day as I got home from work pretty recently (it's like 11pm here now)....damn focus sessions for professional development....

okay, here it goes....

change IS GENERATED to 'FALSE', also put PLAYERPKG in....

so for Rudy Gay here's how it went:
ISPLAYABLE = TRUE
ISCREATED = FALSE
ISGENERATE = FALSE
PLAYERPKG = RUGAY__

pretty easy....

for the rest of the info, you can edit names, numbers, birthdates, positions (0=C, 1=PF, 2=SF, 3=SG, 4=PG)....

you can also edit ratings....I had to work this out by trial & error last year, so I hope you guys appreciate the time that went into it :wink:

Order of Draftee Ratings:
FG - passists
3Pt - pperfoul
FT - psteals
Inside Scoring - pdefreb
Dunk - pturnover
Steals - pminutes
Blocks - pgames
Def. Awareness - pgstart
Off. Rebounds - peject
Def. Rebounds - cpfgatt
Passing - cpfgmad
Off. Awareness - cpthreeat
Dribble - cpthreemad
Quickness - cpftatt
Jump - cpftmad
Strength - cpblocks
Speed - cpoffreb
Stamina - cpassists
Hardiness - cpperfoul

please note that even though you might put a rating of 50 for Blocks for the draftee, in the off-season prior to the draft it might vary down to 40 or up to 58, it's kind of random & kind of sweet too in the same way....you scout a prospect, think he's good at something, then he turns out to not be quite that good....

you can also edit the draftee's potential....this field is called DESTINY I believe....I think the scale goes something like this:
0 = Very Good, 1-2 = Good, 3-4 = Average, 5-6 = Limited, 7-8 = Very Limited

guys like Adam Morrison might have good ratings but his potential won't be as high....meanwhile a guy like Tyrus Thomas or Rudy Gay may have a lower rating by very good potential....

you can adjust appearance in appearance.dbf....adjust height, weight, colour, etc....

Height goes on a scale:
68 = 5'10"
72 = 6'0"
77 = 6'5"
81 = 6'9"
84 = 7'0"
etc

just remember 6'0" is 72 & work up or down 1pt for each inch of height....

weight is in pounds (lbs) - self explanatory....

colour
pale white (me) = 0
tanned white = 1
caramel/splice = 2
brown = 3
darker than night = 4

I still haven't worked out all the body ones, & muscle tone & all them....best thing to do if you don't know, you might want Glen "Big Baby" Davis to be a fat ass like Robert "Tractor" Traylor....find Tractor's body type, muscle tone ratings etc & put them down for Big Baby....common sense is the order of the day....

damn, I can't believe I remember all that off the top of my head....I've been doing this for too long....I really need to get some of that shite out of my head so I can learn the other shite that I'm suppose to learn on my course :roll:

NLSC PLAYER WATCH (FEB '07)

This is a section that will highlight different NLSC Players each trimester. With a handful of new NLSC players gracing the courts in the 2006/07 season we cross to Oregon to check in on the progress of a true, blue ANZAC who's not letting anything get in his way on the road to success.

SG/PG- Andrew Watson (The X), 6'2", 225lbs (34th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by Portland Trailblazers)

ImageImage
Watson has showed that despite only 6'2", he can play bigger than himself on D

Andrew Watson left his steady life on the prospect of the guarantee of a being a 1st Round pick, with a guaranteed, 4-year deal worth millions of dollars. Two teams late in the 1st Round promised to take Watson if he was available. They both passed. Broken promises don't always mean broken dreams, with Watson showing fellow ANZAC's that they should not give up at the first sign of failure. Watson has been a surprisingly steady influence on this young Portland Trailblazers' squad, as he has quickly become a favourite among teammates & fans alike. Despite being well thought of, Watson finds himself on the outside looking in, as he has struggled to find a spot for himself in the playing rotation. It hasn't helped that his primary skill, his jumpshot, as been very streaky so far this season. For now however, the most important thing for Blazers' rookie Watson is to continue learning each & every day, as he looks to build on his current arsenal of skills & wait patiently for his day. His day will come.

Image
Watson's passing has been the X-Factor for himself so far this season as he threads a no-look pass to David Lee for the jam

Andrew Watson's 2006/07 Stats:
3.3ppg, 1.5apg, 1.08bpg, 28.3% FG, 17.4% 3pt, 47.4% FT
0.64 NBA Efficiency Rating
-0.28 Raw Birdie Score
-0.17 Weighted Birdie Score

yeah, the GENERATED field does not affect whether they are a drafted....if you keep the GENERATED field TRUE then you will get a generic face I believe....by adding a playerpkg they are not generated, eh?!? it's jut the way it is I guess....

Sat Apr 22, 2006 1:31 am

Sit with the double-double off the bench

I sense Toon isn't too happy on his team, limited minutes :o
