Thats it! Live06' is officaly one of the worst b-ball games

In all my years,from live 99 i have never been so unhappy with an NBA Live game like i am now.
Wanna win?? - thats no problem,all youve got to do is pass the ball to anything that can dunk and youre facing a 70% shooting day! yep Chris Andersen is the new MVP boys and girls!
The Sliders dont really matter since ive tried the physical D on 100 and thats the result aginst the spurs - one of the best defensive teams in the league:




i almost won the game in overtime
And bruce Bowen of course is the man of the game with 30 points...what an offensive genius!


Then,in the 2nd game ive tried the following suicide sliders:


and still guys - no post moves needed! just pass it to ol' crazy Steven Hunter and he'll make Duncan cry since he's so talented, post defence in NBA JAm 96' looks better.
ive Finished the 1st querter leading 37-32 and Bo outlaw,kurt thomas and steven Hunter combined 26 points from dunking alone of course. and felt like i just had to quit,seeing it was just too much...like the Death of basketball...


And did i mention i came to these results without playing with the defensive stance\boxout\backdown\moonwalk backwards bottons? - which brings me to the next thing i wanted to say:
WHAT THE HELL KIND OF SICK,STUPID,ARROGANT AND DEMENTED COMPANY FORCES YOU TO BUY A NEW CONTROLLER JUST FOR THEIR GAME?!?!?! what the hell do they care with which controller i play MY game with?? its my game! they can play it with a monkey for all i care, i want to play the keyboard damnit! not some idiotic GaYpad with 2 analog sticks or whatever and suck at the game just because they want me to "have the complete experience" of their horrible game,where i live these type of controllers costs alot,they dont bring the cheaper ones here and even if they do they have taxas and delivery costs+importing costs.
Whats next people?? you'll have to have an Nvidia graphics card or the game wont work?? "we're sorry but we dont like other companys no more,they dont give the right experience,if you want to play the game just hold down your restart botton and bang your head aginst the wall in order to play NBGayLive"

Live05' looks so good all of a sudden,im so sorry ive deleted my sliders saves,and to think i threw away a 3-2 series aginst the spurs for this horrible lame imitation of basketball.
Dwayne Wade MUST demand money or his name and pictures taken out of anything related to the game from EA's website,posters etc...its making him look bad - my hate for this horribe game makes me hate him a bit - its only human!!


I dont recommend buying it,Downloading it from a 100mbit http server for free or even seeing it at a store,just stay away from this game.

I hope someone in EA is reading this and it will make them make a better game nxt year, from bringing out the bad and fixing it more good will come.

yea i know,i just gave up on normal sliders and said "what the hell lets go on all the marvels as long as the easy dunks stop " Robert horry blocking 3 shots a game? why not...

did you turn the dunk vs layup slider down? I have mine at 9

its the worst for u but to me, this is its best at its current gen.

it's fortunate that I didn't got this kind of problem.
The games I played were realistic for me.

although there're still somethings I will complain to, overall it's gameplay is the best for me.

Rod, this is exactly what I've been saying here all along. But, believe it or not, I played two games just now.

Check out these slider tips:

DON'T put CPU block ability on 100. For some reason, every block will fall into your player's hands. 50 will do just fine.

You better turn down the User dunk vs. layup slider to something very, very low. Also, you should put User adjusted shot effectiveness or accuracy to the 30's so your big guys won't make every shot where there's contact.

I think I'll be posting a full set of sliders designed to stop all that you showed from happening.

In the two games I played I had first Adonal Foyle, then Chris Taft score 16 but that's got a lot to do with the offensive rebounds. Then again, Troy Murphy scored less than 10 in both and I'm constantly getting better with Richardson and Davis.

The first step is admitting that you have a problem

Other than that, I gotta agree with you that it is too easy to score inside, even with on-ball physical defense at 100. Try upping the double team effectiveness. That might help slightly. Other than that, I can only think of avoiding passing to your big guys, which doesn't make sense when they're open 50% of the time after swinging the ball around.

What Rod is trying to say is that no matter how are your sliders adjusted, you can still score at will with dunks and layups almost on every occassion, even with not so talented big men...

You're probably playing the game too crazily...
Too little and too much is always a common problem in life, so is Live.

Not everyone shares the same opinion as this guy. I've never seen a rant like that in my life. Hahah. I can see where he's coming from, but it all depends on how you play the game. Only problem I've had with the game is that Highflyers are unstoppable without a good stopper on your team, and even then he'll get in foul trouble long before the game is finished. Besides that, I make sure I play text book basketball. Pull-up jumpers, swinging the ball for an open man, drawing the defense... I don't just plough my way through the key with Wade and go on a dunk fest.

Of course it's too easy. Don't whine and play the game how fucking basketball is supposed to be played.

Ok guys,ive tried the sliders tweaks youve offered including putting the block dunk on 51 and dunk Vs layup on 6 and i lost to the pistons by 19 with the Raps (yay?) and here's the result:

i would have won the game if i played ANY knid of defence...

i really dont understand EA,they had a pretty good post play\post defence game last year,i really had to work for my 20 and 10 with Randolph each night,now the post defenders simply dont put their body between the basket and their man like they should it looks like NBA JAM96' on the dribbling aspect as well as on the post play aspect.


Sucky thing is that im a Blazers fan and Randolph is the only star,who am i supposed to play with now?? Jarret Jack?!

Every year I can my play style. Back in the old days it was freestyle with no plays or teamwork what so ever.

Then came the pick and roll and give an goes.

Then post up game.

Then this year it's running plays, perimeter defense is quite good in my opinion and running plays is pretty fun watching it develop.

If dunking is too easy, why don't you just stop trying to dunk. use the shoot button instead.

Anyway, I'm tired of hearing single minded hate from you guys. I love running my plays and running my dynasty.

Boundary Force Filed 100
Physical Def 100
Lay up vs Dunk 1
Double Team Effect 80
Frestyle Effect 30
Game Speed 36 (don't know why, but the faster you play the easier you dunk)
More collision fouls (80 or even 90 would be good)
Adjusted shot 20 or even less
Layup and Dunk percentage to 30 or less
Short range shooting to 30 or less

If they still dunk too much try these:

SF, PF and C defense pressure from autoswitch to High.

they still dunk at will??:

turn off the superstar freestyle
edit all payers dunking and turn it down by 20 or even more

still they dunk???

turn down PF and C speed and dribbling by 10 or even more

still they dunk???

dunk this game, it's not for you.

if the game was the same as last year with better fast breaks and better AI at clutch i would have been happy.
Its not like my world has come to an end,i just have alot of free time in the last couple of days so i spend my time complaining about a game that i used to love in here.

(Superstar - 12mins per qtr.)
(all values are the same for cpu and player)

Game speed = 40
Boundary force field = 90
Fatigue = 42
Off rebs = 0
D. rebs = 100
Adjusted and Poor release shot = 40
Freestyle effectiveness = 45
interceptions = 25
steals = 30
on ball physical D. = 50
Prohop and P.Dribble = 0

That's it. I'm getting final scores like 100-85 (Spurs - Rockets) and 102-91 (Mavs - Clips). Oh yeah and 88-79 (Detroit-Indiana). Style of play is a factor IMHO, if you love the half court game and can honestly play good defense (provided that you're playing a decent team) that'll tone down the scoring.

That's weird. I hardly ever get blocked. I actually make more blocks than I get blocked on.
