THE GAME: SACRAMENTO KINGS vs. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

ImageImage

Another game against Sacramento for the Warriors, against which they were 0-3 before this game, and not to mention the fact that both Baron Davis and Luke Walton were unavailable because of injury. It started off with Mike Bibby running the show for the Kings and Jason Richardson being freezing cold , with 0/4 FGs in the first 90 seconds of the game. With Mobley picking up the mantle on offense for Sac-Town and only sporadic scoring by the Warriors, the home side had no trouble reaching and maintaining a near 10 point lead to end the quarter, 28-19. In the second period , the word nightmare was not enough to describe what Golden State experienced. With Brad Miller dominating the paint on both ends of the floor, Mike Bibby on fire from the perimeter and Cuttino Mobley being flawless from mid-range, the Kings started building on their lead. It couldn’t get any worse, but it did. Troy Murphy sprained his ankle while landing after a rebound and had to be carried out of the court, never to return again in this game. With BD, Walton, Murphy injures and Jason Richardson rebuilding the ARCO arena with brick-after-brick, the nightmare ended for the time being, with Sacramento ahead 59-35 at the half. The second half was no better. J-Rich started getting warmer on offense, but committed a stupid fifth foul with a lot of time still left, and was benched for the entire third quarter. Bye-bye Jason for this game, too. Needless to say, with 4 starters out of the game, the Warriors did not stand a chance, and completely surrendered to the opposition. The third period ended 83-53. In the fourth and final quarter, it was nothing more than a typical procedure. Miller, Mobley and Bibby carried their team to a very, very easy 102 – 69 victory, Golden State’s heaviest defeat of the season.

Oh my goodness. What happened to you Dweav? Looks like injuries are really hurting the team. I like you signing Bryce Drew though. Better luck next game.
