Patch Notes

• WNBA court floors and dornas have been updated for the new season
• Rookieville has been modified to allow for easier entry into The City for new players. A 1v1 court with a CPU opponent will now be available to ensure there is always an opponent.
• AI generated players will now have appropriate heights, by position, when playing games in The Rec

Gameplay

• Tightened up charge and block collision animations to prevent unwanted sliding
• CPU defenders will now properly recognize the direction of a screen even after it has been flipped
• Smaller “green release” windows on heavily contested shots
• Fixed an issue with double-teams that was being used as an exploit
• Adjusted breakout time of in-game emotes to prevent unrealistic movement
• Corrected an issue with play graphics where the line for the pass would begin at MyPLAYER, even if they did not have the ball
• Resolved an issue with certain settings sometimes getting reset when entering and exiting the menu when in a game
• You are now able to change the Tempo and Rebound settings when you toggle the ACE manager ON/OFF
• Players will no longer be able to move unrealistically while defending inbound passes during Garage Hoops games

The City

• The City is being decked out for the holidays! Coming Tuesday at 8AM PST!
• Continued optimization and refinements to performance in the City
• Various improvements and enhancements to buildings/objects/landscapes/lighting in the City
• Further improvements have been made to invites and joining friends in the City
• Streamlined the process of entering a store when you have a ball or vehicle equipped
• The try-on feature should now properly work for the various standalone stores throughout the City
• The Rep multiplier will now correctly appear in the postgame recap
• Corrected an issue where the VC balance would not update immediately upon earning in various City events
• Continued enhancements to the Puma Mania, Mobil 1, Kia Challenge, and Wacky Wednesday events
• Fixed an issue in the postgame recap where overall rating was not correctly showing the tenths of a point (it would appear stuck at 99.0)
• Addressed user-reported issues with Garage Hoops games and related flow
• Added collision to the baskets in Warehouse Challenge games for players running underneath
• Resolved an issue where the timer/counter would sometimes not track during workouts in the Gatorade Training Facility
• Corrected some visual issues when using the subway
• You are no longer able to enter and purchase items at stores for Affiliations you do not belong to

Pro-Am/The Rec

• New Holiday uniforms have been added for Pro-Am games

• Resolved user-reported issues with private matchmaking for Pro-Am Team games
• Improved the ability of CPU players used as fill-ins for Pro-Am Walk-On games
• Addressed an issue with invisible collision under the hoop in Pro-Am games

• Resolved a hang that could occur in Pro-Am when editing the uniform while other players on the team were still in a game

MyCAREER

• Continued improvements to arena personnel positioning and behavior during postgame events, particularly in relation to on-court interviews
• Your MyPLAYER’s body type will now properly be kept individually per save
• Addressed an issue with the saved camera setting being reset after the pregame shootaround in MyCAREER games
• You can now skip through the animation of your MyPLAYER walking back to the bench after being subbed out
• Resolved a rare issue where newly applied tattoos could disappear when changing your MyPLAYER’s appearance
• Fixed a rare hang that could occur in the Jump Shot Creator menu when customizing your shot
• Fixed an issue where your difficulty could be reset after participating in a training session with Chris Brickley

MyNBA

• Fixed a rare hang that could occur during the lottery in MyWNBA or The W
• Addressed an issue in MyWNBA where the League MVP would also be shown as the Rookie of the Year after simulating through a season

MyTEAM

• Added Online VS, the difficulty used in both MyTEAM Limited & Unlimited, to Play With Friends games
• The camera will now be positioned properly when a shooting foul is called during Triple Threat Challenge games
• A number of under-the-hood support items have been added in preparation for upcoming MyTEAM Seasons.

• Ensured that the Ring Ceremony and Banner Reveal segments will always appropriately play
• Fixed a hang that could occur in the Player Training menu when editing a player’s focus

The W

• Corrected a rare issue that could make your MyPLAYER become invisible in The W

The City

• Performance improvements during City gameplay, centered around reports from the community. More optimizations coming
• New Black Lives Matter masks now available at Swags
• Fixed an issue with Jump Shot Creator where the release speed would not save correctly when attempting to edit a previously created shot
• Even faster load times when accepting invites to the City from various areas of the game
• Improved stability in Garage Hoops and Gatorade Rental Court games
• Win Streaks will now properly track at the end of City games
• Addressed various camera warping/clipping issues when near buildings and other objects while riding some vehicles in the City
• The camera will now function properly for all drills in the Gatorade Training Facility when accessed via the Team Practice Facility
• The game will no longer hang after purchasing boosts and immediately entering another store

MyCAREER

• Fixed a hang when trying to enter the private workout leading into the Draft. Saves that had previously run into this issue will also now be able to continue
• Commentary will no longer drop out during occasional stretches in MyCAREER playoff games and after timeouts
• Empty social media messages will no longer appear on the landing menu during the draft portion of The Long Shadow
• On-court accessories will no longer appear in certain endorsement images
• VC balance will no longer have a delay when collecting earnings in the Endorsement menu
• Fixed a rare soft hang in Live Practice on the recap screen when all badges had been maxed out
• Game Goals in the college portion of the story related to blocks can now be completed correctly
• Addressed an issue where attribute prices could show up as negative numbers

The W

• Made a number of improvements to smooth out the beginning of the W Online experience

On the series s, I get messages to return to the main menu for game updates pretty frequently. Are those different than patches? How do I know if I have the latest patch?

Yep, those in-game updates are separate from the patches that come via the dashboard. They're generally roster updates, MyTEAM content, and sometimes gameplay tweaks/tuning that doesn't require a full patch to implement. The patches that come through via the dashboard are the major technical fixes and likeness updates, as they're replacing files.

The updates will come through automatically, but you can check your update settings via this method: https://support.xbox.com/en-AU/help/har ... e-overview

You also won't be able to connect to the 2K servers in-game if there's a new patch and it isn't installed, so you'll see a "Connect" option at the main menu and you won't be able to fire up MyTEAM or MyCAREER. You can also cross-check with the patch notes. For example, in Patch 1.02, you can look for the updated New York Liberty logo or the option to change Shot Meter colour. Their presence will indicate that you have the latest patch; if they were absent, your game hasn't been updated/

Unless you've changed your update settings or don't have your console online for whatever reason, you'll generally always have the latest patch.

Feels underwhelming to have one gameplay change after a month (almost two, but hey, christmas etc cut into it) after last patch.
Wondering if that means they're focusing on 2K22 already, perhaps making it run on PC too?

They've been pushing through some hotfixes (part of the "Updated Required" updates), but yeah, not a lot of gameplay changes. I'm guessing what we see is what we've got until NBA 2K22.
