Hey guys. i have a question. Im Playing the default nba live 08 but whenever i simulate the game in a season, every team averaging 15 or more 3 points shot per game. Even the center ot\r pf is shooting a lot of threes But in the pba xeries Mod, the 3 points average is just normal. What do you think is the problem? I already adjusted the percentage of the big man into 10 percent. :/

I believe it is the sliders, you might want to change the 3 point shooting from 50 to 25, to whatever your taste is.

Each player also has a hidden attribute that determines the percentage of their shots attempts that will be three-pointers. If some of those attributes are bit high, you'll likely see more threes than desired.
For the record, that attribute is THREEPTATT in players.dbf, with the values being a percentage (eg a value of 20 in the database means 20% of a player's attempts will be from downtown). You can try adjusting individual player attributes if you feel they're problematic.

yeah.. but i already adjusted the attribute into 10 for the Center and Power Forward, but still when i simulate the game from dynasty or season, the cpu knocks down a lot of threes. 22 out of 37 threes ?? I try the mod of pba Xeries with the same roster and the average threes is too low. I think its just 3/10 threes or sometimes 0/10. Is there any connection with the mod ??? btw. Thanks sir andrew for the replies. your very accommodating

If we're talking simulated games, then yeah, NBA Live 08's sim engine is pretty messed up. There's a sim engine fix in the Downloads section that addresses a few of the issues somewhat, but it's something we've never been able to truly resolve to the point of getting truly desirable results.
