Notably, Stewie, Meg and Brian didn't appear.

It helps that I had the opposite reaction to Quagmire's tirade against him earlier in the season to most people, but as Quagmire was beating the hell out of him in the latest episode I couldn't help but think "Wait, what did Brian do that was so wrong?" (aside from the obvious beastiality element we're supposed to ignore). I know, I know, it's Family Guy and you're not supposed to think about it but when they actually try and have a story with some kind of character development and the like, I can't help it. Like I said, somehow they've redeemed Brian, for me at least. I've got to give them some credit for that. On a better show, perhaps Quagmire's hypocrisy and whatnot would've been exposed and he would've been called on it, but Family Guy's version of "I fucked your father" *slams door* worked pretty well too.
As for the rest of the episode, I thought it picked up about halfway through. I'll admit to laughing at the vomit gag, it probably went about five or ten seconds too long but as far as drawn out jokes go it actually worked. I've also got to give them credit for not having Quagmire hook up with his father because I really thought they'd go that route for a second there. It was...acceptable.

Peter and Lois' reactions when Brian shows them the picture on his phone was funny. The vomiting scene reminded me of Team America.

In the latest episode, the part where Quagmire and Joe keep getting Peter to crap himself had me laughing more than in any other episode in a while.

Andrew wrote:I actually liked Blue Harvest better. Not that this one was awful but I just didn't find it as funny all the way through.

As people have said, it wasn't your "typical" episode which made it so enjoyable.
