Boston snaps it in OT
Arenas unable to take the victory

Washington 112 - -- - Boston 116

[ Box Score ]

According to the winning percentages the Celtics had no chance, but
the game itself told a very different story. It seemed like the Wizards
had not recovered from the loss to the Timberwolves. Boston's Gary
Payton and Paul Pierce took over in the first as they built a quick
12-point lead. Washington, who had problems with ball handling
(7TO-s) managed to cut the loss to 7 by the end of the quarter.

The second period was a bit better on Washington's side: the trio of
Arenas, Hughes and Jamison scored 23 of the teams 27 points, but
they still couldn't find enough defensive stops as the Celtics dropped
31 on them. Pierce had 22 points by the half and was one of the key
players. Washington had 12 turnovers before the start of the second
half.

Eddie Jordan gave a specific assignment to Larry Hughes for the second
half: to ruin Pierce's will to play. Hughes was doing it great as he managed
to get Pierce to foul trouble and left him with only 2 points in the third.
Payton tried to carry the team but that wasn't enough. Boston lost the
boards 5-13 and the Wizards pulled back, regardless of another 7 turn-
overs.

The fourth period promised to be be interesting and so it was. Paul
Pierce was back on track and scored 14 to keep his team ahead. The
tension lasted to final seconds of the period. Antawn Jamison made
his second threepointer count as the Washington took a 98-97 lead
with just 3.6 seconds remaining. Boston used its last time out and
put the ball to play from the halfcourt. Gary Payton was the man who
received the ball at the top of the key and took the shot with his foot
over the line. The basket was good and now it was Washington's turn
to think things over with only 1.5 on the clock. Arenas shook his defender
loose and got the ball at the baseline and quickly pulled up for a shot.
But Mark Blount was there in time and fouled hard on Arenas. He was
sent to the line for two, but unfortunately made only one of the two.
This game was sent to overtime!

Now, after the Wizards couldn't use their best opportunity, Boston went
ahead with 4 and the gap didn't change. Hughes and Arenas combined
a 11 in OT, but Boston's team play led them to the victory. Pierce and
Payton scored a total of 73 points.

“It's a sad way to lose.” Arenas said. “It was all in my hands and i let
the team down. I really need to improve my FT shooting...” POTG,
Paul Pierce told us that there's no difference who scores the points
as long the team is winning. “There are enough of players who can
drop a 40 on you every now and then so it's no big deal, I just had
one of those nights..”

Arenas passes through NY
No resistance under the rim

Washington 97 - - - - New York 91

[ Box Score ]

The Wizards made it crystal clear that they weren't going to continue their
losing streak. The starting five did a fantastic job neutralizing the opponent
shooters early in the game as they were ahead 14-4 after five minutes of play.
Arenas shined as he dished 7 passes and scored 12 in the first. The whole
team was on fire, they shot .706 from the field.

The Knicks had no answers in the second quarter. Washington won the
boards15 to 9 and the period 22-17. It was a 15 point lead at the half.
Arenas was one of the key players with 15 points and 8 assists.

The third was quite even, Arenas was still passing like crazy and on New
York's side Jamal Crawford supported the team with 11 points. The Knicks
quietly pulled back minute by minute.

New York was still at it in the fourth. The closest they could get was 4 points,
all thanks to poor freethrow shooting by Washington. Another fact is that
the Wizards missed all 8 3-point attempts in the second half. But this was
not enough and Jamison's 8 points in the closing period helped the team to
keep the second place in the league.

“It was OK.” said Arenas who finished with 17 assists. “A nice victory over
a good team, we should be satisfied.” Eddie Jordan agreed. “Lovely. I lost
myself in the course of the game, I should have given the bench a bit more time.
But I left some great players on their seats...” Stephon Marbury was a little
bit disappointed in his big men. “I don't get it they were just lost, nothing else
to say.”

Billups led the Pistons past the Wizards
Detroit still the league leader

Imagevs.Image
- - Detroit 93 -- - - - - Washington 87

[ Box Score ]

This was the biggest game of the day, the meeting between the two first
teams in the league. Detroit has only lost its first game of the season at
Miami but Washington was looking for a revanche of their loss early in
the season. The first four minutes were very quiet, after that Billups went
on fire and scored 16 points as the Pistons took the 10-point lead after
the first. Washington was in trouble with ballhandling.

But the Wizards showed great defensive effort in the second period as
they allowed Detroit only 5 made field goals. The key was great usage
of the bench by coach Eddie Jordan. Washington managed to reduce
the gap to just 2 points.

The second half started just like the first, neither of the teams could make
a successful break within the first 8 minutes. It was once again Billups
who scored 7 consecutive points in the end of the quarter and moved
the Pistons ahead.

Thanks to great play of Washington's substitute men the team pulled back
and the teams were tied with 5.57 to go. But Chauncey Billups was the
man of the game. He scored 18 of his 43 points in the last period with
some beautiful 3-point shooting. Detroit took another win as Washington
was stone-cold behind the arc, missing open shots int the final ten minutes.

“We had a better team against us today.” said Washington's best scorer (21)
Antawn Jamison. “Even though it was a away game it was mystic how many
open threepointers we missed!” “Yeah, it seamed that the defense stepped
back every time I looked at the hoop from down-town.” said the point guard
Gilbert Arenas. Coach Larry Brown came out with a quite brave statement.
“This is the year! We are going for the double. That's what were are going
to do this season. Watch and enjoy!”

Two-man-show in Phoenix
Steve Nash nowhere to be found

Imagevs.Image
Phoenix 100 - - - - Washington 104

[ Box Score ]

This was the first day of the Washington-Phoenix match up. Just hours after
the game the teams will fly to Washington for the second and final match
in this season. But first todays game. Arenas was the player who was pulling
the strings in this one. He had 11 points in the first and managed to get some
fouls from Steve Nash, who played limited minutes. Joe Johnson was the
guy to help the Suns stay in touch before the second quarter. Washington
shot above 60% in the period

Washington went on run early in the second, but then again lost it in the
closing minutes of the quarter. But the most incredible was the game of
Antawn Jamison who scored 20 of his 32 points in the second quarter. He
and Amare Stoudamire with 8 points and 7 rebounds were the key-players
at the half.

The Wizards weren't playing that great during the third period and Phoenix
managed to catch them and lead the game for a few times. Joe Johnson
scored 12 of his 25 in this quarter.

Washington wanted to take the victory early in the fourth as the team opened
a 10 point advantage 7 minutes before the end. But like at Detroit Washington
couldn't hit wide open in the fourth and Phoenix once again pulled back. Un-
fortunately they didn't have enough firepower and the Wizards escaped with
a 4-point victory.

Amare was not pleased with his performance. “I had so many offensive
rebounds that i should have scored at least 8 points more. Just wasn't my day!”
Steve Nash was on the same trails. “It's pretty sad how i played today, couldn't
score, couldn't pass and my guy dropped 35.”

The weather is cloudy in DC
Phoenix stomped by Washington

-- Imagevs.Image
Washington 97 - - - - - Phoenix 74

[ Box Score ]

The Suns who seem to be struggling this season couldn't change much in
one night, actually the things got worse for them. Even though the Suns
played hard defense and concentrated specifically on Gilbert Arenas and
Antawn Jamison, the duo was still at it. Antawn scored 11 in the opening
period and Washington was nailing almost every shot from the field as
Phoenix was stunned and behind with 12 points just after 10 minutes.

Gilbert Arenas went to work in the second and dished 6 assists while
his teammates took care of the scoring and increased the lead to 15. It
seemed that the Suns had no chance to the course of the game.

But they still tried at the beginning of the second half. The trio of Steve
Nash, Quentin Richardson and Amare Stoudamire scored all the 22
points in the third as they cut the loss to 13 even though Gilbert Arenas
answered with 10 points on Washington's side.

Phoenix continued the same trail early in the fourth but with 5 minutes
remaining the Wizards went for good. Arenas was the main work force
in those final minutes with 11 points. They regained their 20-point lead
and won the game 97-74. Nash was the only player who improved on
Phoenix's side after yesterday, Amare had another nice game, but couldn't
dominate the paint.

“I really wanted the guys to have a great game after those losses.” said
Washington's Eddie Coach. “A 20-point game against a team at the same
level really boosts the spirit, really makes you feel good.” “It's a shame.”
said Steve Nash. “I thought we were a contender team this season with all
the young talent here. Maybe things will change...”

Houston suprises Washington
Yao out for another 8 days

Imagevs.Image
Houston 88 - - - - Washington 84

[ Box Score ]

Houston who was playing without Tracy McGrady who was injured early
in December and Juwan Howard who is out with a hyper extended knee
since yesterday didn't seem like a strong opponent for the Wizards. But
looks are deceiving. The rockets didn't allow Washington to go its way and
held the game tied. Mostly thanks to rough fouls, Washington went to the
line for nine times in the first.

The second was pretty much the same, neither team could do something
significant. It looked like a chance for the Wizards as Yao injured his
leg with 3.38 remaining in the half but they couldn't use it. Houston came
up with two big blocks behind the three point line and held the one point
lead.

Yao returned right after the break, it seemed like he was fine and the injury
was nothing. He scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half. Arenas kept
Washington in it by dropping 10 in the third quarter.

The Rockets had the momentum on their side and they quickly opened a
10 point lead in the beginning of the final period. Washington couldn't
decrease the difference until the game clock showed 2.47. They had a
8-0 run and were within just two points but that was all the y could do.
Houston opened another 7-point lead and Gilbert Arenas' last-second
threepointer didn't mean anything.

“It's great!” said Houston's Jeff Van Gundy. “Juwan was just improving
his game and supporting the team as Tracy is out, but now when his out
too I thought we had no chance against Washington. But as you can see,
this team can win on way of an other. The backups can replace the
superstars and that is the most important thing.

Yao Ming was diagnosed with a spur bone in his foot after the game and
will be out for another 8 days. That includes the rematch against the
Wizards.

Christmas Eve Special:
Bobcats no threat to the Wizards

Charlotte in trouble with rebounds

Imagevs.Image
Charlotte 97 - - - Washington 104

[ Box Score n/a ]

After their fifth loss of the season Washington flew to Charlotte. The
Bobcats are counted as an outsider even though they are currently
playing better than the Bulls, the Sixers and the Blazers. But the
Wizards were surprised in the first quarter as the Bobcats took an
8-point lead. That was just a little run that was quickly determined
by Antawn Jamison's ten points.

Washington took it more seriously in the second as they out rebounded
Charlotte 13-6. Arenas led the period in scoring with 11 points. The
Wizards opened a small 6-point lead and held it throughout the
quarter.

Kapono led the scoring in the third as the Bobcats tied after 5 minutes
played in the second half. Washington really struggled in the period,
they shot only .273 percent from the field. Hughes who didn't score
any points in the first half helped the Wizards to keep in touch.

The trio of Arenas, Jamison and Hughes went all out in the last period.
They scored all the teams 29 points and shot .667 percent, outscoring
the Bobcats by 11 and won the game 104-97.

Hughes who scored all of his 22 points in the second half was impressed
by Charlotte's game. “They are a very young team, but the played really
well. Even though the need another solid big man in the paint. In five or
six years this team could be in the playoffs.” Coach Eddie Jordan praised
his players. “Great rebounding today. We won the game thanks to the
offensive rebounds we got (19). A young team, unexperienced players, so
we just played easy and took it in the fourth.”

The Heat hot in OT
Hughes' 46 didn't save Washington

-- Imagevs.Image
Washington 117 - - - - Miami 120

[ Box Score ]

This is the most exciting match up of the Southeast Division. Even though
Washington has a slightly better record, the teams are dead even. Miami
took over the control as they had more rebounds, better percentages and
the lead. Damon Jones led the quarter with 12 points, the best Wizard was
Larry Hughes with 8 points.

Miami increased its lead to ten points but Washington didn't give up, they
caught Miami with 4 minutes remaining in the half. Shaq and Haslip were
dominating the paint, with 18 (10+8) points and Washington's guards
Arenas and Hughes were nailing down shots from mid and long range, they
combined also 18 points. The key player at the half were Miami's D. Jones with
14 points, 2 assists, 3 steals and L. Hughes with 16, 2 and 3 in th same
categories.

With Shquille O'Neal, by some reason, on the bench most of the time in the
third quarter Washington won the rebounds 12 to 5 and took the lead thanks
to Larry Hughes who doubled his points in the third.

Washington built a 8-point lead but the great team play by the Heat pulled them
back in the last 3 minutes. Hughes added 10 and Jamison 8 for the Wizards,
poor freethrow shooting (2/10) destroyed Washington's options to win it in
regular time. Gilbert Arenas missed both of his FTs with 31.7 seconds remaining.
Miami delivered the ball to Shaq who tied the game with 14.2 left on the clock,
but Washington couldn't come up with the basket.

Overtime looked really good for the Heat. Shaq and Dwane Wade scored all
of the points for their team and received its Washington's second OT loss.
Larry Hughes had a great game with 46 points, Arenas and Jamison put up
solid numbers but Miami's starting 5 finished all with double figures and
most important took the win.

Arenas blamed himself. “Its easy to score points, if there's no defense. And
I felt like I didn't do enough today. I shouldn't concentrate only on offense,
like i have recently.” Jamison supported the idea. “Yeah, its easier to win if
you keep the opponent on 70, but how are we supposed to do it if the other
team scores 120 points!?! I know we could score as much, but then it has to
be a team effort!”

The Rockets silenced
Yao still bothered by the injury

-- Imagevs.Image
Washington 103 - - - -Houston 91

[ Box Score ]

Houston who won the first match up between these two is still in the same
situation. Tracy and Juwan Howard are on the injured list and Yao is playing
his first game after the injury he got in the last game against Washington.
Houston's Jeff Van Gundy had done his job examining the tapes of Washington
games and his team opened a very early double-digit lead. Washington shot
.350 percent as Houston shot .485 from the field. Only bright moments for the
Wizards were the 6 rebounds by Brendan Haywood.

Washington pulled back in the second as they dominated the boards 11-5.
Pagett held the Rockets ahead, scoring 8 points in the second. Jamison was
the best scorer on the Wizards with 11. Both of the players were their team's
key players with 14 and 18 points at the half.

The teams were close and it was a tight game. It didn't change much in the
third quarter. The most productive players were Arenas and Hughes with
11 and 8 points.

The last quarter had a dramatic start as Gilbert Arenas Fouled out with 8 minutes
remaining. It was Juan Dixon who came in and helped the Wizards to break away.
He and Hughes combine 20 points in the fourth as the Rockets were held to
17 points. Ming couldn't play much, it seemed like the injury was still bothering
him. Guards Arenas, Hughes and Dixon were great in defense, they combined all
14 of the teams steals.

“We just wanted to win after the surprising loss in Houston” said Antawn Jamison.
“It turned out right in the end.” Dixon who had 16 points was glad they won. “It's
not right to leave things in the last quarter, but sometime weaker teams just play
great and you can't do anything about it.”

Bullets fly past Nuggets
Carmelo Anthony stays shy

-- Imagevs.Image
Washington 98 - - - - - - Denver 84

[ Box Score ]

The only two teams in the league who didn't have a rest in the first day
of the new year. Exclusive game, a Hardwood Classic Night. Feeling of
'78, Bullets vs. Nuggets.

The start wasn't easy, both teams were prone to turnovers and the shots
didn't come easy either. Both of the teams nailed just 6 from the field as
Washington won the first period 16-15.

The second quarter had a different taste to it. The teams were playing
better basketball. Boykins led the Nuggets with 7 points in the quarter,
Hughes was the best on Washington's side with 9 in the period and 14
at the half. Denver had just a 4-point lead heading into the second half.

Washington dominated the boards in the third (15-6) but couldn't make
a good enough effort to pull away. Hughes and Arenas both had 8 in the
quarter, Denver's Andre Miller went for 12.

The Wizards just decided to out score the opponent in the last period.
At least that's how it seemed. Arenas had 10 points along with 3 assists,
Hughes had 6 and totaled 28. Washington shot .667 percent from out-
side in the last quarter and ensured the 98-84 victory.

“I think we lost it because of poor rebounding,” said Miller who had
27 points. “Not that I'm saying it was Kenyon's or Marcus' fault. Little
guys must go for the rebounds too. A lot of the balls bounced way out.”
“A nice win to start the New Year,” thought coach Eddie Jordan. “I'm
really satisfied with the players, we have a great chance making it to
the playoffs. I even have my mind set on the conference finals.”

Pacers fall in the second half
Hughes in good form

Imagevs.Image
- Indiana 79 - - - Washington 100

[ Box Score ]

The Pacers and the Wizards are quite evenly matched teams. On the paper
and on the court. Most of the time...

Arenas was the most active player in the first quarter. He had 10 points but
also had 3 turn overs. Washington did a great job keeping in reach because
having 9 turnovers in a quarter isn't usually good news. But Washington
dealt with it and everything else was in place.

Washington went for it after 14 minutes of play. They made 7 consecutive
shots and built a double-digit lead. Arenas had a great quarter with 6 assists.
The Wizards' luck turned in the end of the period as the Pacers went 9-0 in
the last two minutes and the gap was minimal.

The third was a show by the Wizards: Arenas had again 6 assists, and team-
mate Larry Hughes scored 20 points. Washington was as well hot from the
perimeter, missing only two of their seven attempts.

The last quarter was more of securing the victory on Washington's side.
The trio of Arenas Jamison and Hughes scored 25 of the teams 26 in the last
period. Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal scored 9 of his 21 points also in the fourth.
An interesting fact: Brendan Haywood had 4 steals tonight, 3 of them of course
in the fourth. Hughes finished with 37 points and Arenas had 19 points, 7 boards
and a fantastic 18 assists. On the bad side: 9 turnovers.

Arenas knew the problem himself too. “I don't know how I'm supposed to be
happy over my assists tonight, if i lost the ball in nine situations! It's awful!
Is it a NBA record!?! 9 turnovers!!! Argh!!!” Kwame Brown is worried about
recent changes. “The trio of Arenas, Hughes and Jamison has took over!. The
ball moves between these players, everybody else are left out. It wasn't so
in the beginning of the season. Here's the cause of the recent losses.”

Wizards wake in the second half
Abdur-Rahim with a poor performance

Portland 97 - - - Washington 104

[ Box Score ]

The Rose Garden was packed as The Wizards game to town. The Blazers
were a weaker team but the fans were still counting on them.

Portland had a strong start and gave the spectators hope. They nailed their
first six shots from the field and opened a early 9-point lead. Stoudamire
was the player to lead the team with 9 first quarter points. Washington's
best was Larry Hughes with 7 points. Theo Ratliff was injured with just
30 seconds remaining in the period, but the doctors allowed him back on
the court right away.

The teams really went at it in the second. Both of the teams shot over 60%.
Washington managed to pass the ball more, the Wizards had 9 assists in
the period. Sub Juan Dixon had 4 assists and 2 steals. Larry Hughes and
Zach Randolph took care of the scoring, 8 points each.

Washington once again opened its game in the second half. Thanks to
great rebounding by Brendan Haywood (6 boards in the third) and
Gilbert Arenas /8 points and 4 rebounds) the Wizards were right back
in it.

Washington pulled away in the very first minutes of the last period and
didn't allow the Blazers to catch up. The closest they could get was the 7
points that remained in the final score. Kwame Brown (6 boards) and
Antawn Jamison (10 points) were the most active players on Washington's
side as they won the rebounds 14-6. Damon Stoudamire was the player
behind Portland's attempts to get back in it. He scored 13 of his 24 points
in the fourth. Arenas who shot only .273 percent from the field was once
again the player of the game thanks to his 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals.

Eddie Jordan was already worried about tomorrow night. “I don't understand
the guys who made the schedule. They made the season shorter, but why the
heck do teams have overnight home and away games!?!” Washington's
coach was pointing out the fact that they played home and away games
against the Suns in two days and now will fly back home to host the Sonics
tomorrow night. They'll have a similar situation in a week: then they'll fly
to Minneapolis right after meeting the Lakers in D.C.

Washington 106 - - -San Antonio 94

[ Box Score ]

Raining champs San Antonio came to Washington to pick up another
win on the road, but it didn't turn out the way they wanted it to.

The Wizards opened the game with a 9-2 run, thanks to Larry Hughes'
7 points in the first 4 minutes. Gregg Popovich didn't give up that soon.
After the time out he took San Antonio held the opponent on 0 points
for the last 3 minutes of the quarter and Tony Parker (8 points) led the
Spurs to a 21-20 lead.

The teams played very excitingly and evenly matched in the second
period. SA's Brent Barry got his game running and scored 13 of his
17 first half points in this quarter. Washington's best Gilbert Arenas
(7pts, 4asts) and former Spur Robert Horry (7pts) kept their team
close in it as the Spurs maintained their one point lead at the half.

The third was the last nail to San Antonio's coffin. Even though they
shot .625 percent from the field Washington managed to shoot more
and take the lead. Arenas dished 7 assists as SA's best were Barry and
Bowen with 9 and 10 points.

The Wizards totally controlled the last period in rebounding, the allowed
the Spurs to have just 6 of 20 possible rebounds and took their 11th home
victory of the season. Arenas was once again the Player of the Game with
22pts, 12asts and 6stls. San Antonio's best were Brent Barry with 33 points
and Tony Parker with 23pts, 5asts and 3stls.

“Well the start was horrible,” said Gregg Popovich. “But the end was even
more horrible. I thought we had a great chance to beat them on road but I
guess thy thought the other way.” Tim Duncan who was totally neutralized
was not pleased. “I think the refs made plenty of bad calls tonight. They
were hurting me pretty bad there, but the refs looked the other way.”
Robet Horry who had 13 against his former team was in the groove. “Yeah,
I really felt good, I think Gregg is regretting that he didn't give me those few
more minutes.”

Sonics Too Strong for Wizards
Washington in trouble with shooting percentages

Imagevs.Image
- Seattle 99 - - - - Washington 89

[ Box Score ]

As half of the season is played Seattle is not one of the top teams.
Their win-loss percentage is near 50% and they are just out of the
8th playoff seed. But that didn't matter on the court today.

Even though Washington played strong defense and Antawn Jamison
was the man to lead his team offensively the Sonics forced Washington
to 8 first quarter turnover as Seattle won the period 20-18.

Seattle's success continued in the second as Rashad Lewis scored 1 of
his 26 points in that quarter. Washington shot just .286 percent from the
field and had no chance of catching up.

The second half was very even and the difference remained the same.
Key figures of the second half were Gilbert Arenas and Ray Allen.
The two men had a little shootout as Arenas scored 21 of his 28 and
Allen 25 of his 30 points in the second half. Seattle held it to the end
and deserved the victory. The reason of Washington's loss was well seen.
The team with the best 3PT percentage in the league shot only 3/22
behind the arc and had only 11 assists as their season average is 19.6 apg.

The Player of the Game, Ray Allen, on tonights game: “A great game for us,
really needed that win. This will make the situation a little better for us. Larry
held me out of the game in the first half with some rough defense, but as we
took the lead, they concentrated more on the whole team and i could have
some more space. Even though Gilbert wasn't hot from outside tonight, I
think we'll meet in this years 3-point shootout. He's a though opponent, i could
see that today...”

Rumours Around the League
Washington looking for a young PF/C

The word is that Washington is trying to acquire a young post player
with great potential. It is known that they have made many offers to different
teams around the league. Coach Eddie Jordan was shy on the topic: “It's
true that we're looking for a trade, I'd like to have a great big man next to
Brendan Haywood and Kwame Brown. Unfortunately Peter Ramos hasn't
been as good we hoped and he will probably be included in the trade. That's
all I can say for now...” The next few days should be exciting for all D.C. fans.

Wizards Hold Off Lakers
Kobe missed the last period

-- Imagevs.Image
Washington 117 - - Los Angeles 110

[ Box Score ]

Every basketball fan in Washington wanted to see this one. So much
speculation around Kobe playing without Shaq, can he do it? Take
the Lakers to the playoffs all by himself. But tonight we could only find
out can he be a threat to Washington.

The start didn't look good for Los Angeles. Lamar Odom had two fouls in
the first minute and he was glued to the bench. Kobe stepped up and had
12 in the first, on the other side Arenas was effective with 9 points and 4
assists. Both of the teams shot over 60% but the Wizards took the 10-point
lead.

Washington tried to keep Kobe neutralized in the second and it went almost
so, he had only 5 points. Chucky Atkins was there to help out his team, he
had 11 in the period. Jamison led the Wizards with 7. Odom returned to the
game but earned a few quick fouls and was sent to the bench again.

The third was a match up between Bryant (14pts) and Arenas (13pts), but
it ended 4.20 before the end of the quarter. That's when Kobe had his 5th
foul and he was taken out of the game with 31 points.

Atkins tried to keep the laker in it as Odom and Kobe were on the bench with
5 fouls each, but there was not enough firepower by his side. He scored 13
of his 36 in the last period but the Wizards took the 117-110 victory.

Eddie Jordan was pleased with the teams offensive effort: “The key factor
was the absence of Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant in the last quarter. That
made our game a lot easier, bringing home the easy victory.
