Cleveland may have one this game against the Kings, but boy did they pay dearly
for it.
With the Cavs trailing by six with 3:14 to go, LeBron James drove fiercely to the
basket where he was met by one Ron Artest. Artest was called for committing a
hard foul, unfortunately for James, he hurt his leg in the process. He was immediately
rushed to the locker room for treatment and was later diagnosed with a pulled calf
muscle that will put him out of the line-up for almost 2 weeks.
With James’ absence, Michael Redd and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had to step up. Redd
finished with a game-high 24 points while Big Z had 14 points and eleven rebounds.
“It’s part of the game man, it’s a contact sport and I know Ron didn’t intentionally
hurt me on that play,” James replied while being interviewed at the locker room. “I
just hope I can return just in time for our rematch against the Spurs.”
With the win, Cleveland was able to tie the season series with the Kings, 1-1.

Michael Redd and the Cavaliers got their sweet revenge on the Atlanta Hawks
after beating them at the Philips Arena, 98-86 on Wednesday night.
It was just a week ago when the Hawks beat the Cavs at the Q Arena, thanks
to Zaza Pachulia’s dunk which sealed the victory. Its a different result tonight
as Cleveland controlled the tempo and had the lead from start to finish.
Redd led the visiting team with 28 points including seven assists. Damon Jones
who started in place of the injured Delonte West poured in 17 points on 50%
shooting. Sasha Pavlovic and Penny Hardaway both had 10 points off-the-bench.
“Injuries are becoming a problem for us, thankfully our other guys played really
well to give us this much needed win,” coach Brown told the media.
Notes:
- Delonte West suited up but did not play due to a strained shoulder

It was a highly-contested game up to the final buzzer as Cleveland escaped with
a 105-101 victory against the struggling Bobcats.
The Bobcats who started the season red-hot is now on a downward spiral as they
have now dropped 7 of their last 10 games and is in danger of going under the .500
mark for the first time this season.
Michael Redd once again led the Cavs in scoring with 29 points and a career-high
7 steals. Meanwhile the returning Delonte West had a big game with 20 points on
8-of-13 shooting. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had a double-double with 14 points and 18
big rebounds.
“Back in college I was really noted for my defense and tonight I just felt like I
needed to limit Richardson’s scoring ability to give my team a chance to win,”
Redd said.
With the score 103-98, Gerald Wallace hit a tough three-pointer to make it a two
point game with 8.6 seconds left. Cleveland then gave the ball to Redd who was
fouled and eventually made both free throws to seal the game.
Notes:
- Jason Richardson fouled out with 1:00 left in the 4th period.
- All five starters from Cleveland scored in double-digits.
- Michael Redd shot just 9-of-21 from the field.

The Memphis Grizzlies behind sophomore sensation Rudy Gay led by 31 points at
the end of the first half. Too bad they have to play 2 more quarters.
In what could be the biggest comeback of the season, the Cavs managed to climb
back in the second half and pull-off a 118-112 victory on the road.
Michael Redd finished with 27 points and 6 assists while Zydrunas Ilgauskas
added 22 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Gerald Green finally got his stroke
back and scored 19 points. Rookie Ramon Sessions also provided some spark with
11 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Cleveland poured in the points and turned the defense up a notch in the second
half which allowed them to come back.
“This just shows how tough our team is,” said Ilgauskas. “This is really a great boost
to our confidence and morale heading into our game against the Spurs.”
Notes:
- Rudy Gay scored 24 of his 35 points in the first half.
- Cleveland’s 80 point second half is their highest output for the season.
- LeBron James did not suit up but will definitely play on their next game.
