Question 6: Michael what number will you be wearing now since the number 22 has been retired to Larry Nance?
Michael: I have thought about it and I have decided to wear jersey number 8 which is the same number I wore in Team USA.

First blockbuster deal of the year. LeBron finally gets his shooter with the arrival of Michael Redd but lost two young players with tons of potential in Gibson and Varejao. Milwaukee got deeper with this trade and is basically a trade for the future of the franchise.

The Clippers had a log jam in the point guard position while the T-Wolves wanted to get a third stringer in case something bad comes up with Sebastian Telfair and Randy Foye.

Lasme was a prolific shotblocker at the college level thanks to exceptional timing, length and leaping ability. But up to now, he still hasn’t played a single minute in the NBA.
Nachbar played his best season last year when he averaged about 9.2 points per contest but has struggled so far this season. Robert Swift who didn’t play last season still haven’t shown much progress. If Nachbar is able to get back to his form then Seattle may have stolen one here, but as of now this trade makes no impact on either team.

Supersonics -- C

Danilo Gallinari is one of the most sought after European players and the Grizzlies found a way to get him. A skilled forward with a good basketball IQ. Shoots well, especially from mid-range, and has the athleticism to finish at the basket. He is currently averaging 6.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in eight games playing as a backup for Rudy Gay.
After a great signing by the Grizzlies management, it seems like stupidity just runs in their blood (e.g. Pau Gasol trade). They traded a potential lottery pick to the Bobcats in exchange for Jermareo Davidson’s services. Davidson has just been put in the reserves list. Now how stupid was that?!

Bobcats -- A
Grizzlies -- F
If you think the point guard battle in Seattle between Luke Ridnour and Earl Watson has been a distraction, think about adding another player in the mix in Speedy Claxton. Why in the blue hell did Seattle give up an up-and-coming big man in Chris Wilcox for another point guard? Atlanta is definitely the winner in this trade coz Wilcox is playing well with averages of 10.2 points and 8.4 rebounds a game.

Supersonics -- D
In a rather surprising move from the Utah Jazz, they let go of a young guard Ronnie Brewer to get someone who is more of a banger and energy guy in Renaldo Balkman. This means that the Jazz is committing themselves to playing Kyle Korver at the two. New York may have gotten the most out of this trade but they will have a problem splitting the playing time coz of the ton of guards in their lineup.
Trade Grade:
Jazz -- C-
Knicks -- B-
The Magic got really small with this trade with Tony Battie the only backup center for them. They now have a jam packed lineup full of guards. For the Pacers, they get another serviceable and veteran big man that will definitely make them tougher inside.
Trade Grade:
Pacers -- C+
Magic -- C-
This trade was made by the Jazz to cushion the loss of Paul Millsap due to injury. Kenny Thomas has played sparingly for the Kings this season but he probably still has some game left in his tank. Harpring is a nice veteran acquisition that plays with defense and can knock down open jumpers. A fair trade for both teams.
Trade Grade:
Kings -- C
Jazz -- C
