yep, another old snap out of the archives  it will be interesting to see where you guys (and I for that matter) end up as I myself do not know that yet....

hornets_fan wrote:man i made a bobcats dynasty. I hope it works out just like yours

last season I did small game-by-game recaps about every 5 games....unfortunately, as most of you guys know I really have strapped for time so my updates won't be as frequent....to keep the dynasty moving, I have decided this season to go back to monthly recaps as I did in my first 2 seasons....I don't find there was much popularity to the game-by-game recaps for the amount of time it takes....when (not if) I make playoffs this season I will have more comprehensive playoff coverage with game-by-game recaps like this past season.....

Seraph wrote:Impressive coverage, btw I supossed I got a big contract this years , didnt I ?

how quickly you forget....you were a 1st round pick last season which means you got rewarded with a 4 year deal....you will be entering the 2nd year of your deal....Dweaver was resigned because he was an undrafted free agent last season who was signed to a 1 year deal....I'm a free agent as I was a 2nd Round pick 2 seasons ago....and besides, you are probably still earning as much as Weaver is based on the rookie scale

hornets_fan wrote:hey X

well, it only took your Bobcats dynasty about half a day to get to the 2nd page of the thread....it took mine over a month to do that....so I'd therefore have to say that on that basis that your dynasty is actually better than mine

2007 OFF-SEASON COVERAGE

TRADING PERIOD

After significantly upgrading my starting SG spot in the draft and free agency, the Bobcats now find themselves with a team of guards. The solution: trade some of them for forwards.

AUGUST 2007

Once the trading period started I concentrated on trying to find a backup SF. With the arrival of Joe Johnson and Michael Pietrus in free agency, I decided to put recently drafted rookie guard Rashad McCants on the trading block and I started the search.

The Bobcats quickly found a suitor in the Atlanta Hawks. However it wasn't really Rashad McCants that the Hawks coveted, it was a PG that could start in front of Travis Diener. Realising that they had a plethora of PG's (Arenas, Jaric, Head and Tshibaka) the Bobcats decided to offer a deal that involved Rashad McCants and Ben Tshibaka for 2nd year forward Joey Graham and rookie centre L. Maliq as a throw-in for salary cap purposes.

Bobcats Get Stronger With Trade

The Bobcats announced today that they had traded the rights to recently drafted rookie SG Rashad McCants and 3rd year PG Ben Tshibaka to the Atlanta Hawks for 2nd year forward Joey Graham. Whilst the Bobcats gave away two talented guards in this deal, this was an addition by subtraction trade as Tshibaka would not have been happy with playing a 3rd string PG role for the 3rd straight season. Graham will add toughness off the bench and backup at the SF and PF positions. He is an improving player who could develop into one of the better SF's in the league if he improves his perimeter skills.

Can Graham be the final piece that lifts the 'Cats to the top of the East?!?

Check out below for full transactions for the month of August & September

After the off-season the roster looks like this:

C - Guy Dumars/Nene/L. Maliq (R)
PF- Emeka Okafor/Tiago Splitter
SF- Bobby Simmons/Joey Graham
SG- Joe Johnson/Michael Pietrus/Alex Acker (R)
PG- Gilbert Arenas/Marko Jaric/Luther Head

What's on the books for the rest of the Roster?!?

Well it appears that L. Maliq will be waived before the start of the season. Another centre and power forward will probably be signed for insurance purposes. With the other roster spot perhaps a contract shooter will be brought in or a prospect for the future.

Hope you enjoyed off-season coverage. Will enjoy my weekend and try and trade the NLSC-ers and finalise my roster by the start of next week.

cheers for all the support this off-season....

cheers....I don't like McCants so the trade made sense to me....McCants would have played behind JJ, GA, Jaric, Pietrus and Head in the backcourt....he had to go....

cheers, I think so too....I like to do trades that benefits both teams....if anything the trade probably favoured the Hawks, but they suck so I thought I'd help them out

jxuusa wrote:wow this looks like a great lineup man.

yep, a big change from the days of relying on Keith Bogans to carry the team

Yes! The Spurs sign Scola!!! And how the hell do the Pistons offer Milicic a 7-year contract??

McCants was never going to be a star for me....don't know how Graham will do as he'll have to earn his PT the hard way, but he should be alright....as for Scola, he re-signed with Spurs as he signed with them last season to a 1 year deal at minimum....as for Milicic, who knows how he got a 7 year deal at about $3.5 mill per season....especially when a tough guy like Hassakis was interested in going to Detroit and only ended up getting a 4 year deal at about $1 mill per season....

*Sensation* wrote:Good job getting Joey Graham.

yep, I don't know how he will go but he has the potential where if he develops I can either move him or Bobby Simmons to upgrade another position....he can play multiple positions which is always a positive....I always like guys who can play 2 and 3 positions so I can throw different lineups at opponents....

I'm a ghost on these forums, but I have been following your Dynasty since near the start. One of the (if not THE) most impressive dynasty(s) ever. I hope this one lasts a while, Its a great one.

Nice move by getting Graham and Johnson, Should beef up the peremeter D a bit.

I guess you're one ghost that I don't mind popping in to say hello :P thanks for the kind words....I don't have the photoshop skills and display of a guy like cocobee, but I've tried to have a dynasty with longevity....I know as a dynasty viewer myself that it can be annoying to see really good dynasties start and stop all the time, so that's what I've tried to avoid doing....

as for Graham and JJ, yep, they will definitely help the team's perimeter D....a bit better than guys like Watson and Kapono  and don't forget to add Pietrus to that list as he's a top notch defender....I definitely think I have now finally got a team that is good enough to compete for the championship
