EAST'S BIGGEST BEAST GUIDES THEM TO TROUNCING OF WEST

By 'Bill Symonds'
NLSC Insider

Updated: Feb. 19, 2007, 12.14 AM ET --

In what proved to be a pretty one-sided 2006-07 All-Star Game, the Eastern Conference All-Stars used a balanced attack behind All-Star Game MVP Shaquille O'Neal to beat out the Western Conference All-Stars 125-107 in Las Vegas. The West just couldn't stick with the deeper East, as the East pushed out in early in the 3rd quarter & never looked back.

Here's are the boxscores from the 2006/07 All-Star Game:

EAST:

Image

WEST:

Image

Here's a few highlights from the game:

ImageImage
AK47 (Utah) was pumped from the start as he threw down this ferocious dunk. I know I'm not the only one who thinks that AK47 took up on his wife's offer. Being in Vegas & all, the pickings are definitely not slim

ImageImage
PF Zach Randolph (Portland) was his steady self as he came off the bench & gave the West 10 & 5. Ho hum

ImageImage
All-Star Game MVP Shaq (Miami) once again schooled Yao (above left) & took time out to defend former teammate Kobe (above right)

ImageImage
Whilst the West didn't win, Baron Davis (Golden State) & Kobe Bryant (LA Lakers) put on a good show for the gamblers

ImageImage
Emotions have never been a strong point for Tracy McGrady (Houston), however he did manage to start the latest craze around the NBA as he showed off his 'House, Roof, Chimney, Smoke Move' (above right). My friend would kill T-Mac if he knew he was using his signature dance move

ImageImage
It's not hard to guess which player his fellow All-Stars think shouldn't be in the game, as PG Jamaal Tinsley (Indiana) gets utterly abused, as he should. He's no Jason Kidd of course

ImageImage
Tinsley's teammate Ron Artest (Indiana) eyes off a gambler with a beer in his hand (above left), but eventually comes to his senses & accepts the theft (above right)

ImageImage
Mike Bibby (Sacramento) celebrates his 1st All-Star appearance with some flavour (above left), as Elton Brand (LA Clippers) disregards the posterisation he receives from Chris Bosh (Toronto) as he is spellbound by a member of the crowd. Jury's out on who it is, it could be anyone's guess

ImageImage
Yao (Houston) once again shows his versatility as he splits 2 defenders (above left) & shows A.I. (Philadelphia) that he can indeed touch his own toes

That concludes the All-Star festivities for the 2006/07 season. Hope you enjoyed what Sin City had to offer. It probably ain't the last time we'll be here if the Maloofs get their way.

cheers, unfortunately time is not that free at the moment....work is work, but it's the study that is taking up my time....I have focus sessions, projects & stuff coming up over the next couple of months, so it's gonna be a balancing act, which means at times, updates might be slow, as some might have noticed with ASW (considering they were basic recaps)....

i don't want to rush you into something i meant that it's time to go back to the regular season (instead of the glamour life from the ASW - especially in Vegas :cheeky: )

NLSC POWER/INFLUENCE RATINGS (thru mid-Feb '07)

pHLo (0.818, 13.0/18.0pts + 0.096 bonuses)

cwebbiverson (0.733, 11.5/17.0pts + 0.057 bonuses)

Jugs (0.647, 10.5/18.0pts + 0.0635 bonuses)

Crunk-Lao (0.544, 8.0/15.0pts + 0.0105 bonuses)

H Rock (0.545, 8.0/18.0pts + 0.101 bonuses)

Sit (0.495, 8.0/18.0pts + 0.051 bonuses)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

D-Weaver99027 (0.585, 8.0/14.0pts + 0.014 bonuses)

Malfa (0.557, 7.0/14.0pts + 0.057 bonuses)

zmac|two3 (1.031, 1.0/1.0pts + 0.031 bonuses)

killer_cr0ss0ver (0.011, 0.0/1.0pts + 0.011 bonuses)

HonorGlow (0.001, 0.0/1.0pts + 0.001 bonuses)

guys, I'm gonna drop the bonus points down to 0.005 if you get Player/Rookie of Month correct....don't want these bonus points getting too out of hand....no bonus points for entering one or the other, but if you enter both, you'll get 0.001, but you can risk that to gain 0.005 by getting all the matchups picked correctly....

I might have something along the lines, that if you use your 'power/influence' then your bonus points are reverted back to 0.000  damn, that's a brilliant idea :P

I know, I know....I'm just disappointed that I don't get to play Live as much in the last week or so....heck, there was a full week gap between when I played the dunk & 3pt contest to when I played the ASG :( that's why I was really trying to pump through the months a few weeks back I guess, as I kind of knew that time would dry up :(

ahh well, it'll continue :D

hm.... since it's pretty difficult to pick every game right, i think u should give a few more bonus points (something like 0.010) :D

will the penalty points remain at 0.001 for not picking the single games right ?

funny system :o

but i like it

problem is I have some months where I only have 4 or 5 games so it isn't that hard, & some I have 8 or 9 games, so it is hard....with a bit of strategy, it's worth a gamble with lower amount of games....

if you want, if there are 8 games, then you get 0.008 bonus points for guessing correct, & 5 games, 0.005 bonus points & so on....what do you think? sound more risk-reward fair?

if you pick the single games wrong, you lose that 0.001 bonus point, but it's not really a loss....it's just not gaining the points you normally would....
