edit: just checked out lakers boxscores and your guy had a great game....as did the Bird Man, Chris Anderson....

well i have a hard time defending SG and SF. Green take the slack from Pierce who got in early foul trouble.

I'm glad i got a great game, with Butler got injured (minor one), i'm his back-up so i got to see more minutes. Andersen really a revelation for me. once inside his unstoppable (almost  ).

D-Weaver 99027 wrote:Glad to see you keeping this real

Are you going to pick up your game or is it a lottery-bound year for the Lakers?

i always want a realistic dynasty...but not the extent of trying to make it exactly the real one.

No, i want to go all the way... esp. it my 2nd season and i know Lakers will come back strong next year.

ceekay wrote:LOL! Green on the Celtics...
Did Paul Pierce really only play 12 minutes due to foul trouble? That's crazy, but I don't think he could've scored an extra 17 points anyway.

yeah what a coincidence/coincident...
yes Pierce only play that much. To tell you the truthm when he got his 1st foul early in the game, i try to take him out by isolating him either with Bryant or Butler. and evertime he camback, i try to post him up  .

Golden State Warriors (5-22) @ Los Angeles Lakers (16-12)

Game Preview

Lakers are coming off a big win against rival Boston Celtics. But they needed a big 4th quarter to pull away for that win. Bryant had a great game but got big help from his teammates esp. Odom and Santos. They will try to start a new winning streak as they host the worst team in the NBA today. Caron Butler will still be playing with a minor injury.

Golden State Warriors, on the other hand, are on a 2 game losing skid. They lost 7 of their last 8 games and hold worst record in NBA with 5-22. Jason Richardson led the team in scoring with Dunleavy come in 2nd. Danny Fortson proved to be a great addition for this team averaging double figures in points and rebounds.

This will be an easy assignment for the Lakers and a good chance to start a new streak. But they should be careful to play relax as this Warriors team have capable on upsetting any team. Kobe Bryant and Jason Richardson will be a great match-up to watch.

Game Recap

Image
Lamar Odom had a all-around game with
17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to
compliment Bryant for a win against the
Warriors.

As expected, Lakers came into the game somehow relax. Lakers were surprise to the struggling Warriors putting up a good fight and even took a 3 point lead. But Lakers recovers just in time and avoided to be behind by large margin. Lakers made a late run but still trail by 1 point, 23-22 at the end of 1st quarter. Lakers don’t know what hit them as the Warriors extended the lead to 10 points. The trio of Murphy, Dunleavy and Richardson had a great 2nd quarter. On the other hand, Bryant struggles in this period and only Odom had a good game. At halftime, Warriors held a 57-48 cushion.

Lakers tried to come back in the 3rd quarter but to no avail. Warriors even extended the lead to 15 points, 63-48 at the 7:23 mark. Lakers then made a huge adjustment, they tried using a big line-up with Mihm, Milicic and Odom as their frontline and Santos and Bryant at the backcourt. Playing zone with big line-up gave Warriors problem inside and with their outside shooting not clicking. Lakers cut the deficit to 3 points at the end of the 3rd period. The score was 78-75. In the final period, Lakers continue to use big line up and even used Rafael Araujo. But the Warriors somehow find away to score with Lakers defense and once again extended their lead to 8 points. Lakers play catch up most of the quarter and still trail by 5, 101-96 with 2 minutes left in the game. Bryant then took care of business and led a late game run to take the lead. Lakers had a 4 point lead but Dunleavy made a 3-poimt shot to cut it to one, 3 seconds left. They quickly fouled Bryant. Bryant made the 1st free-throw and intentionally missed the 2nd one. Without a timeout, Warriors try desperation three but never hit the rim. Lakers win an ugly game, 111-109. Bryant had another great performance leading the Lakers with 35 points. Lamar Odom again finished with a double-double performance with 17 points and 11 rebounds plus 6 assists. Troy Murphy had a great game for Warriors with 20 points and 16 rebounds while Dunleavy had team-high 25 points.

Phoenix Suns (17-11) @ Los Angeles Lakers (17-12)

Game Preview

Lakers are again on a 2 game winning streak since enjoying this steak more than 2 weeks ago. In their last game, Lakers won against the lowly Golden State Warriors. It was the ugliest win for the Lakers who even trailed by 15 points in a game they should have win by a blowout but instead win it by just 2 points. Bryant again carried the team with Odom playing an all-around game. This will be the last game for the Lakers this year and their first assignment for the year 2006 will be against Denver Nuggets. Caron Butler injury was aggravated and will need another 6 days to heal. He will still be available for the game.

Phoenix Suns are also coming off a win. They won 3 of their last 4 games. All Suns starters average not less than 13 points with Joe Johnson leading the way with 16.6 points per game. Both Stoudemire and Marion average a little less than 10 rebounds per outing.

This game will be offensive battles with both teams have great players who like to score. The teams who will a good defense will have a better chance of winning this game. Also expect a shootout from downtown from these 2 teams who love to shoot 3-point shots.

Game Recap

Image
Kobe Bryant scored his first 50 points of
the season on 16-21 shooting and made 17
free-throws.

With Butler still injured, Lakers decided to start big by using Odom at the small forward position and inserted Chris Andersen in the starting line-up. Lakers got a big break when Steve Nash was called for 2 straight foul, just 30 seconds gone by in the 1st period. This help the Lakers built an early 12-7 lead. But Richardson stepped up in absence of Nash and scored 8 points and the Suns able to grab the lead at 20-18. And even when Richardson was called for his 2nd foul, the momentum was on Suns side and finished the quarter strong. Suns lead 27-21 going to the next quarter. Lakers decided to use the big line-up they used in Warriors game. This create mismatch esp. at the point guard position with either Barbosa or Nash guarding Bryant. Bryant scored 17 of his 25 1st half points in this quarter. But the score was still close throughout the quarter. At halftime, Lakers only led by 1 point, 50-49.

In the 3rd period, Bryant continues to take advantage of his mismatch. But still the Lakers were unable to pull away as they allowed Suns second chance points, mostly by Stoudemire. Stoudemire scored 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in this quarter. The game was tied, 83-all with one quarter left to play. Suns started the 4th period with an 8-0 run. Nash who struggle all game long caught fire in this quarter and scored 14 of his 20 points in this quarter. Lakers then made a run to tie the game at 101-all. Then Bryant took over and helped the Lakers built a 6 point lead going to the final 2 minutes of the game. In the end, it comes down on hitting free-throws with Bryant making his last six to preserve their lead. They win this on a high-scoring game 124-120. Lakers were led by Bryant's 50-point production. Odom had a double-double performance for the 3rd time in a row. Lakers also got good game from Andersen and Santos. Amare Stoudemire led the Suns with 26 points and 18 rebounds while Johnson and Nash added 22 and 20 points respectively.

Next update will be the 1-0n-1 match-up... it will befun coz its the start of the 2nd round....

plus the monthly recap for the month of December....

all this after i updated my other dynasty

Tue Apr 12, 2005 6:28 pm

you sent Butler to the bench....not a bad thing with the way he's been playing and the way Andersen has been playing....

as for even comtemplating the idea of stopping the Hawks dynasty :shake:
I think what you other guys must have missed is that I don't think he's playing this Lakers dynasty to get through like 10-15 seasons....I think that's what they Hawks one is for....I may be wrong though and pls correct me if I am Micchy_boy....

final point, I've been monitoring your PG play and it is pretty sorry :o ....the last few games your PG's are getting like 4 or 5 points combined....it's just not working at the mo for you at PG....any plans?!? or do you think it was a bad move giving away Warrick, Grant, etc for Davis when you still need a pointman....let me know your thoughts

Tue Apr 12, 2005 8:59 pm

I was just saying.. its gonna take a long time lol... does there have to be a reason for stating something???

Tue Apr 12, 2005 11:09 pm

who's starting something? :?

i only put Butler to the bench coz he's injured plus i want to play with big line-up... and yes Andersen playing well.

about this dynasty, i'm happy i able to reach 2nd season and yes i have no plan of playing this season that long...
i started the Hawks for that reason, go up to 25 season if i can...

about the PG play..i'm not good in using PG, unless i'm using a team with a PG superstar. if you notice in the past few games, Alston and Atkins dont play that much coz i used Bryant as my PG....

i'm still open with the possibility of getting fisher...
