MODS for PC (I'm new to all this)

Hi

I've never had a PC game before and I've been playing the 2k series on the consoles ever since Dreamcast. Last year when I got NBA 2K9, I thought for sure I'd be able to create a realistic Jordan but it always comes out looking horrible - and the 2k share has some good ones but they're not as realistic as some of the mods I've seen on PC.

I never thought you'd be able to get Air Jordan 1's or the other various mods on NBA 2K9 because it was impossible. I then realised it was impossible for the consoles and very possible for the PC. I'm new to modding, I know nothing about it and how to do it. I was wondering what do I need to do to get the sick mods when I buy NBA 2K9 for the PC. Do I need to download it? If so, how will it appear in the game?

My PC is capable of handling NBA 2K9. I have a 2.4 GHz processor, IGB RAM and a 40GB HDD. I'm not sure about the grahics card I may buy a new one but for now I need your help. Can you please explain how I can get these user created mods on my copy of NBA 2K9 on PC.

Once the game is installed, the files will be in a subdirectory of "Steam." The files with an IFF extension can be modded or replaced with mods that you download. If you are looking for a particular mod, use the search function of the forum. You can also request mods in the help and requests section.
