There is actually no need to replace any player, you can just create a player, name him MJ, use IFF editor and tick the box on the iff enabled and make sure you replace the faceid to 943. Now if you want him to be default and not CAP (created player) it's simple, just change the type (above the iff enabled box ) from 5 to 4. The 5 value is for created players, 4 is for defualt, and 132 is for players under created teams.

Once you created a player you can either assign him to a team immediately or of you choose not to assign, he will be under free agent.
