... It's possible you could get a virus from anything you download, or just plain anytime you are connected to the internet. I actually got a virus recently when downloading Arby's (or whoever) NBA 2k9 roster update. Don't know if it was attached to the file or just a coincidence. But just keep a scanner running and you should be fine.

Sometimes antivirus programs think texmod is a virus, since it hooks into Directx 3d games in order to view and replace textures. It's just a false alarm, though.

Also, sometimes people use malicious sites or hosts for their mods, and when you attempt to download the mod you get a virus from the site itself. A mod containing a virus is a very rare occurrence.
