To me i like the steps that live is taking, but until i can be sure they took the feedback of andrew and the rest of the guys at the community day and fixed the problems i'm going to say it is going to only get a around a 7.5. If it fixes the problems then i'll consider maybe 8.5 or 9.

Ratings don't determine whether or not you'll like a game. But I say 8.

I think it will be almost 1 full point lower then 2k8, which may be heading towards a 9 or more. If bugs are minimal in their frequency of occurrence and user frustration, and the defense catches up with the offense that we have seen and read about so far, then Live 08 could actually match up with 2k8.

does the rating ever change year to year anyway? half the time i see games get rated as a 9 and the game sucks ass so rateings are pretty worthless

I think it will be rated as much as a 8.4 or so, AS MUCH.

I think it'll be around 7.5-8, with the reviewers saying that the game is much improved from the previous years, still has some slight bugs, and is not as fun (for simulation at least; possibly the dunk contest, unless Live also adds props and falling animations or w/e 2K has) to play as 2K. They'll also like the graphics.

They'll rate 2K slightly higher or the same I think.

Personally for me IGN is like the law when it comes to reviews.

Last years version received a 6.....if they make a marketable improvement I think they can get to 7/7.3 anything more then that would be a HUGE jump.

I will wait to read the reviews of both Live and 2k8 and then buy one. There is a good chance I will be going with 2k, unless Live really holds it down this year. I'll even go with Live if it's a few tenth of a point lower like 2k (8.8) and Live (8.2), I will not spend $60 buck if it's like 2k(8.8) and Live (7.3). Just my opinion.
