The only way to increase your cap space is to cut your payroll. That means you'll need to wait until contracts expire or make trades with teams that are under the cap that result in them taking on players with big contracts while you receive cheaper players in return.

If you plan on gaining cap room through expiring contracts, you might want to consider trading unwanted players with large contracts that run a few more years for players whose contracts will expire at the end of the season. Note that the deal will have to work under the salary cap so you'll be taking on a contract that's roughly the same size, so you won't immediately get any cap space.

If you want to try and free up cap space immediately, look for a team that has cap space. Early on in a Dynasty game, the Charlotte Bobcats are ideal. Once again you'll be trading away players you don't want, but this time you'll be able to trade a larger contract for a small one since the other team will have the cap space to make up the difference.

You can edit the .dat file in your saves...If you download a program like ultraedit...There's a whole tutorial on it, plus a thread. Here's the link

http://wiki.nba-live.com/index.php?n=Tu ... nNBALive07

If you want to make your own, or...

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic42224.php

After you figure it out, use pdub's way to edit it (by just adding a one to the end)
You'll understand this later but

In ultra edit it will be displayed 00 8F CF 00 ....Use the insert key on your keyboard to relaplace the last zero with 01 ...

It will look like this then : 00 8F CF 01 ...you will have now idea now, but after you read the tutorial, the forum, and download ultraedit you will...remember BACKUP first...the just use the insert key...Trust me it works...I have a 118 Mil salary cap.

That's certainly another option.
