Creating a Custom Jersey

Postby winfis on Fri Jul 20, 2007 6:09 am

I wanna make my own team, but I have to make a jersey before.

I'm using NBA Live 07, so I need a tutorial for 07.

I tried with this tut: http://wiki.nba-live.com/index.php?n=Tu ... oNBALive06 I know it's for 06, but I though it might work, but I can't do the step 3.

Can anyone give my a tutorial for the NBA Live 07?

Thanks a lot!!!

The process is all the same...I don't see why you can't do step 3... download the BigGUI program, open the .viv file. Then export the files within that .viv file to whatever folder you want (the creator of the tutorial made a folder called Added Jerseys). Then just rename those 5 extracted files plus the .viv that those files came from into the same name, as the creator used, bostc78. The first 4 letters signifies the team, the c signifies that it is a classic (h for home, a for away), and the 78 is the year of the jersey that the game will display.... Its really not that hard. The 07 steps are essentially exactly the same for 06.

My problem is those 5 files.

I have more than 5 files.

I'll try to use another .viv, and I'll let you know.

thanks!!!

You need to rename the 101 number files. There is a quick way of doing that using a hexeditor that has a "find and replace" function.

Make sure you copy and paste the viv file, you don't want to overwrite existing viv files.
Open the new viv file in the hex editor. I use Hex Workshop, it isn't free but it has a free trial period of 30 days.
Start the "find and replace" function, which should be located in the "edit" menu. Some hex editors may call it "search and replace", or just "replace"
Enter the 8 letter name of the viv file without the ".viv" in the text box for "find";
----example - bosthome
Enter a unique 8 letter name for your custom teams jersey in the text box for replace;
----example - teamhome
Choose "Replace All" or hit the replace button 104 times until you get a message saying it didn't find any instances of "bosthome" or what you put in the text box for find.
Save the file.
When you open it in BigGUI, all the files should be named "teamhome" or what you put in the text box for "replace"
Extract all the files and you should be able to move on in the tutorial

Pdub, I tried to do what you say, but I can't.

I downloaded Hex Workshop, but in the text box for "find", I can't write all the letters, I mean, I can't write the "s" or "u"... And so many others.

Pdub, if you can't I understand you, but I wonder if you can do me a favor. Could you change the name of the Charlotte Bobcats Alternative (charserd) to "surihome".

Thanks a lot for your help!

P.D.: Can I make the jerseys whit Photoshop, while I can't make this? How can I make them? I need a template?

On the "find and replace" window, change the part at the top in the "type" box from "hex values" to "text string." Sorry, I forgot about that part.

There are some in the download section. There is also a jersey creation tutorial by Lean aka CrappyStuff.

I'm here again with more questions.

I'm trying to change the position of my jerseys, using this tutorial:

http://wiki.nba-live.com/index.php?n=Tu ... rNBALive07

But I don't understand this:

3. Adjust the offset on what you see on this picture.

Anyone can help me?

Thanks!

I've done the positioning of the numbers... Now I have another doubt.

I wanna know how to show or hide the name of the players in the jerseys.

Thanks a lot!
