Barcelona releases Navarro

Juan Carlos Navarro, one of the best players still playing in Europe has been given the ok from Barcelona to join the NBA. While the Wizards have his draft rights since 2002, he might end up in Miami. Can someone start working on his CF and portrait?

The news are all over the Spanish papers as this is a big thing there (Navarro was league MVP in 2006 and top scorer this year, ahead of all foreign star players)

I doubt it since we still don't know where he will play. The Wizards have his rights and they will probably sign him within the next week. Then they will probably trade him to either Miami (for Posey?) or Memphis, the two teams interested so far.
But if someone wants to create him, here are his stats this year you can use for his ratings:

this is HUGE. especially if the Wiz keeps him. I'd definitely play as them in Live 08

If I remember right, he is a great shooter/scorer and would be a great 2nd option to Gilbert off the bench.

Wizards can't keep him. The draft rights expire after 3 years. They picked Navarro in 2002, so their draft rights were valid until 2005.
Navarro is a big friend of Gasol. So, his first option is the gasol's team: now he plays in Memphis, but i read that he should go to Chicago in exchange for pick #9 Joakim Noah, Andres Nocioni (now RFA), and Chris Duhon.

your post doesn't make much sense. if the wiz can't keep him, then why would the wizards trade him to get something back? if it expires after 3 years shouldn't he be a free agent then?

They can keep Navarro I am pretty sure. I just think there trying to package a big man with Navarro to bring in a little bit more productive player. Anyways Scola maybe a Bull soon since rumor is Chicago will attempt to trade for his rights.

I made a mistake. Wizards can keep Navarro, and who wants him has to negotiate with washington. But Navarro would prefer to play with Gasol, so maybe wiz will trade him.
