Draft dbf editing ?'s

Mon Jul 02, 2007 4:14 am

1) I'm sick of my league overflowing with crappy rookies within 3-4 years of draft. Is is possible for me to eliminate the second round all together by deleting 32+ scouted rookie players from the player.dbf? Can anyone foresee any negative consequences (crushing and such)?

2) In order for a particular player to progress fast what are all the values that need to be edited? So far I know of WorkEthic and Learning is there anything else?

3) Is it possible to edit audio id in such a way that announcer calls the player only by his first name? or only by a nick? What are all the values responsible for audio files connected to an individual player? I found a bunch of name id's in name.dbf, is that the file used for rookie generation only or audio id's as well? If not is there a file with all the players audio id's listed?

1. It's quite likely that would cause a crash. You could always edit the rookies once they're drafted so they're not so lousy.

2. The DESTINY, WORKETHIC and LEARNING attributes all need to be favourable.

3. You can assign surnames and some nicknames, check names.dbf for the SPEECHID numbers.

I learned that the hard way. It didn't crash but kept all 2nd round picks while giving them golden heads :)

Got iT!! Just a quick check, "0" in learning is given mostly to retired all star teams. ??? Is "0" not a useful value? then the best va;lue for an active player is 1, right?

Do announcers actually use nicknames in their commentaries? If so where can I find speach IDs for those cause the Nickname.dbf is only for written nicks in a profile screen?

I was under the impression that 0 is the best value but if not, 3 is the worst which would make 1 the best (assuming 0 is a value for retired players). I don't think there's commentary audio for the nicknames but there might be PA speech files for them.
