Generic cyberface infecting all cyberfaces

Postby donkey33 on Sun Jun 10, 2007 4:53 pm

I'm having a problem here and it's annoying to say the least.

I installed the game fresh and installed the SUM mod. Everything worked fine. Installed a few faces, they worked fine then all of a sudden I get this problem.

The problem is, a generic cyberface is over-writing all cyberfaces. Even the ones that EA have done. It's not totally over-writing them though. It's a 50/50 mixture where someone like Tim Duncan has all his facial hair and there's that Tim Duncan resemblance there but this other face is over the top of it. It's for everyone and I don't know why. Also, most of the headbands are stuffed up (see Ben Wallace pic). Melo's is ok for some reason but his face is still infected.

Sometimes it goes back to normal but most times when I load the game up, it doesn't. So I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it without the SUM mod. It then worked but has come back.

I did sim a dynasty season and imported the real rookies (Oden, Durant, etc) from eamods. I think went into my normal roster file and created a Kevin Durant. Went to the DB Commander and edited the created Durant line to match the dynast Durant line and then put his cyberface into the sgsm folder. I also edited the appearance.dbf by copying that info over as well.

Could that be the reason this is happening? If it is though, why does it sometimes work and othertimes it doesn't? It still does this before I even load up my rosters. Even if I reset the rosters it's still there.

Any help would be appreciated. I've attached some pics so you can see what I am talking about.

The answer is very easy: often the cyberfaces looks horrible from edit player screen, but in game are (if they are good) amazing.
That happens because you've got a too low resolution, so the cyberface has a fuckin looking in edit player screen.
Don't worry, in game your cfs work and they aren't infected.

It is a bug with the game. Play a game or go into practice mode and then exit, and all the headshapes should be normal in the edit player screen.

Nope, in this case, it's SUM's problem, because after installing SUM mod, all players headshapes are messed up in edit mode, and when I go to practice mode and back again to edit player mode, it's all the same. When I wasn't with SUM I was able to fix this problem with practice mode method. But as k-durant said all faces looks great in game.

For me, it has been a fifty-fifty chance every time I go to edit player -screen that players have generic headshape... Sometimes it helps when going to practice mode and back, but sometimes it goes away by just changing the player I'm editing...

As everyone has already said, it is a bug but it doesn't effect the faces in-game.
