XBOX/PS2/PC REALISTIC RATINGS !!!

It seems EA's ratings were done for how players would perform during simulating games in dynasty or season modes

this is definitely not what they need to do

I tested how smooth the game would run if I brought all players quickness ratings to 1(sounds ridiculous but it works and gets rid of pg domination and the cpu actually run their plays)

the players also stayed in front their man

it got rid of the outside stopper by lowering them all quickness to 1

but suprisingly the defense was 10times better without the ridiculous amount of steals.

there is no more fastbreak and score because these changes I made

all the players speeds atleast 70

70-79 speed post players

I set 80-99 speed ratings for some pf's,all pg's,all sg's,all sf's

Then I boosted some dribble ratings too

Example:lebron,nash,wade,kobe would receive a 90-99 dribble rating

Carmelo Anthony,KG,Vince Carter,Josh Howard would get 80-89(all pg's and most star sg's would receive in between this range)

then i boosted the defense awareness ratings
ea's defense awareness ratings were way off
ex: Udonis Haslem received a 45 daware rating

this is my rating system defense awareness
now 70-79 is average
80-85 good
85-90 great
90-99 terrific

79 and below for most role players and most pf's and c's

then i set the playbooks (use jimmy's or playmakers plays (optional)

finally i used playmakers nba live 06 sliders(just go to nba live 07 sliders discussion topic on page 4)

I got really good results!!! :D

I dont ever remember seeing an nba live run this well

it seems like a lot but to start off use the ratings on the starting lineups for every team you get ready to play with and save it.

I'll be posting some ratings some time soon.

Considering that ratings determine simulated performance and statistics, I would argue that it's a factor that needs to be taken into consideration when assigning ratings, at least with the system that's in place at the moment. Ideally there should be a balance that allows for realistic performance in gameplay and simulation, though that's difficult to achieve without the use of DSTATS (which of course have their own issues which is why they were removed in the first place).

It's an interesting approach though, further examples and results would be most appreciated. (Y)

I did more testing and unfortunately the dribbling(even good ball handlers would crossover and lose the ball) and stealing the ball were the two problems I had.

there was no way i could fix them
