installing title screens

Can someone tell me how to install a new start-up screen in the German version of the game?

I tried renaming the file from "screens~bootup~title.big" into "screens~bootup~title_de.big", a file I found in the screens.viv

but I just results in the game crashing. Anybody knows what to do here?
