v1.05 released...

Postby Andrew on Sun Apr 01, 2007 8:30 pm

Welcome to the official support thread for v1.05 of the current roster update!

Andrew wrote:A new version of the NBA Live 07 current roster update is now available to download here.

Key features of v1.05:
- 2006/2007 Season Rosters (accurate as of 31/03/07)
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Fatigue ratings updated for better substitution patterns
- Cyberfaces for all newly added players
- Portraits for all newly added players
- Player weights and bodytypes corrected
- Kevin Willis added to Free Agents

A couple of release notes:
  1. Kevin Willis has been added complete with a portrait and cyberface. He's still on the free agents as the signing hasn't been made official, however it seems likely he'll be on the roster as of the next update. In any event, he's in the rosters ready to be signed as soon as it's official.

In case anyone was wondering, I don't usually make a point of mentioning specific players I've added to the roster but I figured I might get a few questions about Willis, especially since I haven't added him to the Mavericks' roster yet. :)
  2. A Larry Krystkowiak face patch will be added as soon as possible.
  3. The Fatigue Fix is still included but hasn't been updated; if you've already run it after the release of v1.04 or are installing the patch for the first time, you don't need to worry about it.

I think that's about it. Any other questions or concerns please let me know and I'll address them as soon as possible. As always, constructive feedback is most welcome. :)

Why didn't you use the portrait that I suggested from the 1.04 thread? Is there something wrong with that?

No, but I can't make cyberface patches so unfortunately I can't put it to use myself.

Still Missing a Face

Postby FREDtheBeerMan on Sun Apr 01, 2007 10:20 pm

I've checked the portraits of all the players in your roster database. Now only 1 player uses a silhouette instead of his actual face. Are you still going to make a portrait for James Thomas (Free Agents)?

Fantastic work once again Andrew, thanks a lot.

Just a heads up, two Sonics big men have drastically improved their outside touch: Nick Collison and Johan Petro. Collison most notably.

His range extends out to the top of the key. Any time he's open he'll knock down that jump shot, but in game he can really be reliable past the free throw line. Perhaps an increase in Field Goal might be a good idea.

As for Petro, his range on his jumper is much improved as well. He seems to be consistently knocking down fadaways from in between the free throw line and top of the key. Most of the points he scored in his career high 22 point game on friday night came from jump shots extending out to the high school three point line.

Great work Andrew. As always. (Y)

I really think that Anthony Parker deserves a star shooter mark.
He's shooting .425 for 3 this season and the Raps use him as a set shooter very well.
Somebody kick Otis Smith's nuts please.

Hi Andrew! Great rosters as usual! Just a comment, maybe you could remove dwight howard's headband and give renaldo balkman his orange ones in your next update. That's all. Cheers! (Y)

I won't make one myself because my attempts at graphics aren't pretty (to say the very least) but I'll certainly use the one that miner0w has submitted. Speaking of which, thanks miner0w. :)

You should be able to, it certainly wouldn't hurt. :)

Thanks Silas, S.R.N.O, Grosso and mdbeltran01740 for the corrections and suggestions. All noted. (Y)

Hi, Andrew!
Seattle's Earl Watson is superb defender. He is averaging 1.3 steal and 0.3 block(Good result for 6-1 guy, isn't it?!) off the bench per game. So his defensive awareness should be increased to make him FSS outside stopper for sure. Also I think his block rating could use a boost.
Currently in your roster he really lacks of speed and quickness for pointer but in NBA he well-known as guy with great quickness. So I think his speed and quickness should be increased too.
Due to Ray Allen's injury Watson spends more time on the court, and it has good affect on his stats: during last month he had a lot of games reaching doubledigit points, and in last game he scored even 28 points. So I think his field goal(he shoots 2pointers with good 42.3%), 3point(his 3pt% is .320, for example GS's Stephen Jackson and Utah's Deron Williams have same percentage with same number of attempts) and dribbling(63 is too low for him) ratings could be increased.
Dikembe Mutombo maybe lacks of quickness but his speed is very good for 7-footer. He always makes quick transition from half to full-court. I think his speed should be increased up to 50.
Milwaukee's Maurice Williams is very quick on the court. His quickness and speed should be increased I think. Also he is good scorer shooting from the field with 44.4% For comparison Chris Paul has same percentage. I think his field goal rating should be increased. Also he improved in his defence: now he makes 1.2 steal per game(last season was 0.9). I think he deserves more steal and defensive awareness ratings than he currently has.
That's all for now. Thanks for your time.

ok, my patience is fully over. Andrew, with all my respect to you and all your work (great rosters man) I have a message to you. I'll start. We have a nice dynasty (one of the best in Russia) and "respectable" man Grosso is the part of it. I think it isn't important to say wich team he manages. Dynasty roster is based on your roster ratings. Of course we're making update in ratings with every your release. Now I have traveled to the heart of my story. Are you intrested to know why Grosso is writing you so much? Every player he is begging you to increase ratings is in his team. EVERY. You can find his team here.
Of course, he was making trades and now his team looks a little different, but do you think that he will ask you to increase rating of Earl Watson before he traded him? Or Mutombo? Luther Head? Others? Grosso wrote in one of his messages that he speaks not about his favorite players. Maybe not favorite, but they are players in HIS team.
I think now you clearly undestand what kind of man he is.
Please, Andrew, when you are making a new roster - don't listen to Grosso and his "suggestions".
Thanks a lot.

Hey, sp1r1t, man are you okay?=) If it is a joke so it is not a funny one.
Well, okay, first of all, what's wrong? I'm doing something illegal?) Andrew always says that feedback is welcome. So I give him suggestions on some players which ratings are not correct in my opinion. And then I don't post something like: "Wow! man! this player is great!!! He is real deal! So please increase his overall rating up 99 at least! Thanks!" No, I always give a constructive feedback with a lot of stats. Just take a look on my posts. And I think I give right suggestions. For example just compare Maurice Williams's and Chris Paul's per game stats - they are almost same. Paul is better only in steals and assists, in other points Mowill is better. So I really see that he is underrated and I give suggestions. That's all.
I used to make my own roster if I had knowledge in dbf-editing. But I don't have. So giving CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions to Andrew is all that I can do.
Greetz.

I said you're doing something illegal? I just gave my opinion about one "constructive Houston Rockets feedbacker". Please tell me and Andrew, why you're speeking about your team only? Players of your team are better? Or only they earned your attention, yes?

I don't want even to comment your stupid opinion. I write there that which I think necessary. If you do not agree with my suggestions so please approve them. And then Andrew always takes into consideration only some of my suggestions not all of them. I don't know what you trying to get but I don't see a problem. If you want to talk with me so please PM me. Let's don't post offtopic there. Anyway I'll continue giving suggestions. If Andrew do not agree with them so as I writed many many times there is no problem. Andrew makes roster not me.
By the way why did you write only about me and didn't mention Vanny, Shox15, soulreaper, K!ller and others? You had to.
Greetz.
