Can't direct pass after calling a play

Direct passing seems to work fine until I call a play. Then as soon as I call a play, direct passing stops working. Instead, an attempt to direct pass results in the ball handler shooting.

Has anyone had this problem?

uhm, not exactly. my ballhandler can't shoot but can already pass "directly" without pressing the direct pass button. i think this is a mistake by EA. when you call a play, the ballhandler can't shoot but only has options which player to pass to. what if you changed your mind and attempted to drive your ballhandler to the basket. *sigh* this game is really annoying.

The EA designers will say this is "as planned" and then give some explanation about "improved passing functionality."

Actually, when you call a play the "direct pass" function is turned on (notice the pass indicators on each player). So when you press the direct pass button you are really turning the direct pass function off...and shooting the ball instead.
