Another Complaint

Wed Oct 18, 2006 10:31 am

Yes, I know there is a bug list and such, but I don't think this is a bug. I believe it is something that EA just got rid of to make room for new features, or somehow forgot it in Live 07 like so many other things.

Anyways, has anyone else noticed that once you go up for a shot, you can't pass out of it? I'm very dissappointed by this because I'm indecisive when I play and I'll pull up for a shot, see an open guy and like to get him the ball. Also, it was a good way to fakeout a defender or another player. This is moreso to just let off a little bit of my dissappointment more then anything else.

I think I've done it, Im probably wrong but I thought we could still do that and also pass out of layups?

I could be mistaken

Somebody wrote this in a thread around the time of release, and a few people including myself confirmed that we could do it fine.

I'm assuming you're talking about a jump shot. Nobody but Playmaker Stars and Superstars can pass out of layups or dunks, but I've always been able to pass out of jumpers.

What type of controller are you using?

Maybe they changed it so that only FSS passers can do it. Or maybe you have to press turbo button or somehitng like that.

I've done it too, but it's true that it's harder this year. I use it a lot and sometimes I'd try to pull it from the 3pt line and the player would actually shoot the ball way too early if the pass fails...

i used it earlier today but to just confirm what elbadman said i did it earlier and the pass was insanely inaccurate and it looked like i got it off just in time....

you can pass while in the air whether it be a jumpshot or a layup and you need not control a superstar to do that. having the ability to pass during layups is a good addition in nba live 07.

Maybe I have all of a sudden become retarded or something. I'm using a PS2 to USB convertor and it's worked fine in the past. Hmm...maybe I'll go try again.

I use a PS2 to USB converter too... but the thing works fine except sometimes for some reason. I press pass in the middle of a shot and the player doesn't react and I get called for a travel...

Oh yeah, Steve, can you do the really fast passing??? My palyers don't respond to me quickly tapping pass twice in a row...

Don't you need to use the right stick to do that? The manual says to tap the pass button and move the right stick towards the player you wanna pass the ball to, all of that while the first pass is still in the air...I tried and I failed...

I will try that!

But thing is, my right stick doesn't work so I can't use FSS... maybe it's for the better tho!

Wow you guys are just posting more bugs that arent really bugs. LOL.

I dont blame you caz the game is totally a joke this year- probably will be the same shit for next year. Good luck, Live loyalists.

I've tried doing layups and passing it in the air a lot of times. This occured while im stealing ball and mistakenly pressed the steal button again while in fact I haven't noticed that I already have stolen the ball. Since the steal and layup buttons are one and the same, I do the layup from the opponent's side of the court! :D the good thing is unlike in Live 06, i can pass out of it.

Ok, my findings are this...You can pass out of layups and shots (haven't tried dunks). But, you need to press and hold the pass button while holding the shot button and when the computer feels good and ready, they will pass it to someone. The only problem is...sometimes they don't pass. :? Also, the mid-air passing isn't perfected either, it's pretty much the same. You have to click the pass button in the middle of the ball being passed while pushing the left analog stick in the direction of another player. And, once again...it doesn't always work... :? But, I found that lobbing it up to a player then trying to do a mid-air pass seems to work easier. Although, the lob usually gets stolen so that's not a great idea either.

I hate it because you have a 50 / 50 chance of getting called for a travel. Its very stupid because 06 was jst fine with this.

Yeah...I don't understand why EA feels the need to mess up basic features that we have grown accustomed to using.
