AIACT 1.1 Released

Download

I would post another box score, but my computer crashed while I was looking at it. I'll say that I got my ass kicked by Miami. No shots were falling, I was missing easy FSS shots, and could barely get any calls. D-Wade was 5-16 in the first half while Shaq was 6-14. I think they both ended up with over 20 shots taken in the game. Antoine Walker took over 11 shots, Jason Williams took around 15. For somereason, Udonis Haslem was 8-8 in the game and 6-6 from the line. He finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds and was the player of the game.

There is no longer the bug where a player stands still dribbling the clock out. Coast to coast driving isn't fixed but I worked around it by adding more passes during a fast break, into the post, and in general. I have cut down the dribble penetration and one on one play except for players who excel at it. There should be a good balance of the type of shots that are taken.

The file archive contains both 1.0 and 1.1 versions

PG defending tips

You don't have to always guard the point guard, but it is essential during transition. There is always other ways like bringing your off ball defender to try and double team him when he drives. Turning up the user sliders for on-ball defensive assist and on-ball physical defense help also.

Here's what I do, it has brought me good success with stopping the coast to coast driving. I get up to the pg during transition and initiate the dribble drive defense animation. I start by only using the left analog, but once the animation is started, I add the defensive stance with the right analog and sometimes I will press turbo. I start by pointing in the direction the ball handler is going, then I curl the left analog towards his dribbling hand. If at any moment the animation is stopped or interrupted, he is changing direction, so do the same thing with the analog but in the opposite direction. Don't push towards the pg or you might get bumped and then he will just go passed you. It's actually better to push towards the basket after the animation stops.

Damn, been waiting for this. ill try it out once i get home and maybe post my box scores. (Y)

Edit: did you fix those end game straight three points?

Tue Jan 30, 2007 3:16 am

mnem, as far as I know, I can't do anything about them.

Tue Jan 30, 2007 3:18 am

Pdub thx alot for this fantastic aiact...no need to use specific rosters, gameplay settings or adjusting primacy ratings.
The CPU uses their dominant big men alot.
I played 2 games with this aiact against Miami and shaq alongside with wade scored alot...lots of nice post up play.

thx alot (Y)

Very good work, this is a good one. I had a great game with NJN against Memphis, guarding the point guard is much easier, like you said. I really recommend this file. Stoudamire scored 10 points while Gay and Gasol got over 20 each. Bravo!

Wow, excellent Pdub!

This aiact works incredible (best solution I've ever used for PG domination) I was playing denver, and 4/5 starters had 10+ points, no one over 20 points (I play 6 minute quarters though), Iversion had 9 assists, 17 points, melo had 19 points, etc, etc.

Excellent work Pdub!

ok, i tried your v.1.1 and i must say im impress! no more pg stuck at dribbling. i saw alot of passes in every play now and less catch and shoot and little penetration of pg. No more 3 sec violation coz the players move alot. And i dont know how you did it but the fastbreak are great!!

Heres my boxscore:

1st game Cpu(Dallas) vs. Cpu(Miami):

unfortunately shaq and wade has been on foul trouble since 2nd quarter. Most of shaq points came in 4th, while wade comes from beautiful fastbreaks. And @ dallas Dirk has been taking most of the shots (Y)

2nd game User(Denver) vs. Cpu(Pistons):

At the 2nd half Wallace totally rape my team when i tried to steal from him he pass to billups for an open three. :?
But i got crazy with Melo. And that two point lead is a buzzer beater from Melo

All in all good job on v1.1! but i notice that sf tend to shoot more now. While on v1.0 sg shoot more. I also notice that cpu use alot of ffs (although thats a good thing for me.) And i know you didnt change any animation but i notice theres some teleport going(or missing animations not sure) when the cpu performs a shooting move. Although it seldom happens.

Thanks for that Pdub, I'm gonna try it tonite, it sounds promising (Y)
And the little video is helpful too.

Ive a got a question for Pdub, Is this aiact compatible with any roster including jimmys roster and gamefix? what roster do you use for this patch...any specific or its just andrews roster

Tue Jan 30, 2007 4:06 pm

I just use Andrew's, but it should work fine with any roster.

Tue Jan 30, 2007 5:03 pm

i tried it and i'm loving it Pdub, especially the touches that the big men are finally getting and the occassional throw from out bounds to the sg or sf while running mid court rather than the pg always bringing down the ball... big props for your hard work... (Y)

Just wanted to say, great work with the AIACT, Pdub. I've been using it in conjunction with Andrew's roster (slightly tweaked), Jimmy's teamplayfix (from his 9.02 gamefix), as well as Chris 23's no longer updated Dynasty Focused Sim Engine fix, and I have been getting absolutely fantastic results.

I really do propose some others try this combo, bearing in mind I have tweaked Andrew's rosters to give a smarter distribution of minutes by the computer (i.e. trying to play the teams 10 best players) and to lower the passing of some star big men like Jermaine O'Neal, Yao Ming, and Shaq. Some statistical highlights from the end of my first season:

- Kobe Bryant finished 3rd in MVP voting with 31.2 PPG, 5.8 APB, 6.9 RPG, 2.03 SPG
- Stephon Marbury led the league in assists (not good) with 9.3 APG (quite good, the highest I'd previosly seen was ~7.5)
- Yao Ming also averaged better than 30 PPG, and won MVP with better than 10 and 5 on the boards and assists
- The assists leaders was not dominated exclusively by PG's, with Lebron, D. Wade, and even Kevin Garnett finishing in the top 30.
- ~20 players averaged 10 RPG, with about 15 going for double-doubles on the season
- Lebron James finished with 25 PPG, 7 APG, 6 RPG
- Ben Wallace averaged 2 SPG and 2 BPG. No one else did. He also won Def. Player of the year
- Detroit (with C-Webb as starting C) edged Phoenix 4-2 in the finals.

I hope this is the right thread for such a post. I put it here because I figured this combination is giving me such fantastic results that I feel it may help you with your future updates. Hell, if I knew the first thing about game editing or programming, I'd be all over figuring out why this combo seems to be so successful. I've tried it in several different dynasties with several teams (only finished the one season, though) and got great results throughout.

I apologize for the length of this post, it may be a bit bold of such a newb (first post), but I have been following this board since the release of '06, and only now do I feel I have something to contribute. So again, thank you Pdub (and all patchers) for all your hard work. You've made buying Live '07 worthwhile. Kudos.

Oh, also, I should mention that I play on Superstar,12 min quarters, and only play the fourth quarters of 2 posession games. The only changes I make to the sliders are to slow the gamespeed to 25, as well as up the fouls and defensive sliders (mine and computers). This causes realistic quarter scores, varied by game tempo. When I play Suns/Wiz/Warriors, etc., both teams usually top 30 points in the quarter. When I play the Jazz/Pistons/Spurs etc., it's usually low 20's.

Sorry, do you want to know what it does, or what it is?

The teamplay fix is the dbf files that change the plays for teams so they run plays for their better scorers.

You need winrar or winzip to extract the files.

I think he meant that he tried to open aiact.viv...
Check out the ReadMe pacsgreatestfan, it'll tell you where to drop the file.

Pdub, I finally got to try v1.1 and it worked great. There's just a couple of times where CPU would just dribble without moving at all, but the rest was fine.
Now if there was any way to reduce offensive rebounds, speed up the sprint, and increase block frequency (which might not be related to the aiact at all), everything'd be just perfect...
Great work so far (Y)

I actually had some bad gameplay today. I played against the Warriors in my dynasty and there was alot of standing around and dribbling, only their higher caliber players were pretty active. They had a team rating of 72 and while Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Dunleavy, and Pietrus were playing ok, some of the worse players weren't very active at all. If anybody experiences stuff like that while playing weaker teams, please let me know.

yeah i tried opening it..

it says choose the program that created it or w/e..

i guess i might have to extract

Do you mean extract the .zip? (or .rar, whatever Pdub used)
If you're talking about the actual file, the aiact.viv, you don't need to open it, just drop it where it's supposed to go (should be in Program Files/EA Sports/NBA Live 07/ai/act I believe). Check the ReadMe, should explain where it goes.
