Hey Pdub could you update the primary and secondary colours for the headbands of each team? Cause right now the Raptors wear a red and white head band in real life but in NBA LIVE 07 they have it as a grey and white headband instead

Can you 2X the fonts? Like those numbers and letters on the scoreboard... Text on the in-game menus...?

Its possible to replace EA's true type fonts with another font type of higher quality. I think someone did it for Live 06. They are in the "NBA Live 07\fe\fonts\common" directory and have the extension "TTF". Any true type font downloaded from the internet should work.

For now, you can do that in the teamgear.dbf file. Here's the color chart - http://www.nba-live.com/nba2005/colours.php . You will need to update the AUTOCOLOR, AUTOCOLOR2, and AUTOCOLOR3 fields.
I'll talk to the bigh0rt about updating the accessory colors in the SUM roster.

Accessory colors will be updated. Fear not.

Hey Pdub , i downloaded the plug in from Nvidia as you said ... but i still cant open dds files ??

Says : The type of file its wrong

Mon Oct 23, 2006 10:54 am

I think I've read about that before, you may have to update directx. Before you do that, try uninstalling and reinstalling the dds plugin. Also, what version of Photoshop are you running?

Mon Oct 23, 2006 11:34 am

I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results , im using CS2 version (9.0.0.0)

And , can you give me a link for the directx ?

Thanks

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx

You have to have a genuine Windows, though. :)
You can also get it here - http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.html

Shit , no results :|

Search your hard drive for this file "dds.8bi"
It should go in the "Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\File Formats" directory.
If you don't find it, its not installing correctly for some reason.

Make sure this is the file you have downloaded - http://developer.download.nvidia.com/to ... 9.1500.exe

I have no idea why it isn't working for you, I've given all the help I can. Try google.

One more thing, there is a program called "dxtex", or something. It converts dds files to different formats and back(I think). You could convert a dds file with it to a format photoshop supports, and then convert back to dds with it.

ESPN Score Overlay - work in progress.

Image

Don't tell me anything about the text/logo/number positioning, etc.. That will be taken care of, this is a work in progress
Let me know what you think about the graphic and should I use logos or just text to identify teams.

Sun Oct 29, 2006 10:35 am

huui n1 try.

i think you should use the team logos, because text looks boring^^

but very n!ce scoreboard

Sun Oct 29, 2006 10:35 am

That looks really good, I prefer team logos to names personally.

Sun Oct 29, 2006 10:38 am

I think the "ESPN" logo is too compressed. Maybe try to italicize/skew it a little more and maybe stretch it sideways a little bit. And add some more black/white on the bar. (Y)

I'm actually a fan of text over logos, since I don't want to have to do any interpretation when I'm quickly checking the scoreboard. But I would use the abbreviations i.e. NJN instead of Nets.

Looks very nice - maybe add some black elements to make it more court-neutral. It would look a bit harsh if you were playing at Key Arena or something (Y)

Sun Oct 29, 2006 11:21 am

Yes the real life ESPN overlay is alot darker around the edges, I'll see what I can do.
Maybe I could use text over opaque logos. :)

huui n1 try.

Ehhhh, what? :?

Sun Oct 29, 2006 11:24 am

Great start, bro.

Guys, he said please not to say anything about the text/logos, etc. because it will all be taken care of, to his specifications, later on. So I'm sure he'd appreciate it if you'd stop saying what your preferences are, when they really don't matter.

what else is there to say but (Y) (Y) great start

I don't find my comment to be out of line based on his post...

BigKaboom2 -- apologies are necessary here. I'm just a bit testy because my internet went on the fritz for 3 hours, and I must've mis-read. So again, apologies. (Y)

Sun Oct 29, 2006 12:04 pm

Oh, no problem bigh0rt, I'd be stark-raving mad if my internet died. I didn't mean to point out your error, just wasn't sure if you were privy to some information from Pdub that I wasn't aware of. :)

Text over opaque logos sounds cool, but I'd have to see it to judge it I think.

Sun Oct 29, 2006 12:54 pm

@ the dds for photoshop , didn't worked for me ... but thanks anyway for your help, really thank you very much.

@ The ESPN scoreboard ... looks good , but maybe it would look better if you change the red colour for black , and add some red lines like the real ESPN scoreboad... anyways, looks great IMO

Sun Oct 29, 2006 12:59 pm

The ESPN scoreboard itself is that color red, so I don't see it being changed to black any time soon. 8-)

Sorry you couldn't get it to work, Scorer--20. Last possibility is a manual installation - http://rwc10.tripod.com/DDSopen.htm - You can get the dll files from a link on that site, and I can give you the dds.8bi file. If you already have newer versions of the dll files, don't overwrite them. Please pm me for this instead, thanks.

I have many pics of the real life scoreboard, it is either a dark red or black around the edges and has a rounded metallic red look to it, which is bright along the middle. I was looking for tutorials on making a metallic look, but the screens that I showed are what I ended up with in the end. It looks more like plastic, but I refuse to spend hours trying to get a real-to-life look, rather then perfect the whole layout. All graphics can be updated after all positioning and font color is done.

sir pdub, i thing team logo is cool than text...!

Sun Oct 29, 2006 10:59 pm
