How to delete players using DB Commander? NEED HELP!!!

Mon Aug 13, 2007 5:57 am

Hello!

I want to delete few players (free agents). So I am using DB Commander and I am editing file called players.dbf which is placed in my dynasty save folder. I am finding these players, deleting rows and quitting. Unfortunately these players are still in the game. So I tried to copy this modified players.dbf file and paste it to ALL databases (in My Documents/NBA Live 07/ database -> in currentdb, originaldb, workingdb and so on) overwriting old player.dbf files. Result? Nothing. So I tried to paste this modified file also in database folder in main NBA Live folder (C:/Program Files/NBA Live 07/database). And? These players are still available!!!! Can someone explain me what I am doing wrong? Maybe I need to edit another .DBF file, not only players.dbf??
Btw, when I delete these rows in players.dbf and close DB Commander, this file WILL be updated/modified right? Because I don't see any "Save as" or "Save" button in this program.

Thanks anyway.

The most effective means of removing players from a roster is to change their TEAM and CASH_TEAM to 32 (the Retired Players pool). Deleting the rows in the database is mostly ineffective and often leads to errors and crashes.
