Rosters into Dynasty Mode??

is there anyway i can get a player or two from a newly downloaded roster patch into an already created dynasty?? thanks for the help if this is possible

I have managed to get some players off a roster patch into my dynasty's free agent pool by importing the player info into the players.dbf and appearance.dbf files, and editing the players contract details. However when I simulated the rest of the current season the next season those free agents were gone.

I have tried to import Shaq as well because he had retired from my dynasty, however i could not edit any of his ratings when he was imported, including his contract details, and it crashed the game. I know most roster experts would say to start a new dynasty but i really don't want to lose the one I've got, i just want to add the odd player, and try and keep existing ones in it. If anyone could tell me how to make Shaq work please let me know. I am wondering if the game save keeps a record of retired players somewhere and thats why it won't work.

Has anyone else tried adding players to their dynasty? Did it work or not? Has anyone had the same problems as me? I'd really be interested to find out.
