Tue Jun 05, 2007 11:03 pm

in working with creating or editing uniforms, i have a simple question. the crotch part of the templet it up side down or right side up and when would appear for the uniform in the game and how much reaaly appears and affects the look of the pants when it does appear.

the reason i ask is in making the jerseys i'm trying to determine how much i need to do to throws three peices so the total jersey looks as it should.

You should paint the crotch section because it will be noticable in the game. I use PSP myself. Obviously solid colors are easy. What I do is group the different sections of the uniform. I make a group for the trim on the shorts. I usually make the crotch section last so I won't have to do anything over. Duplicate the trim group and flatten the group. Using the selection tool make a copy of the trim area (use a small rectangle). Delete or hide the flattened layer. Paste this as a new layer. Flip it 180 degrees and position it in the middle crotch section. Copy this layer twice and position over the left and right crotch sections. For more info d/l the 2006 jersey creation tutorial I made. It's in the 2006 jerseys section on this site. This info will work for Photoshop users also.

ty bassman between a little trial , your tips the tut i've figured out the problem and the color issues with the crotch trim coloring stuff and road or alt uniforms coloring i had.
i have the base stuff down for the first set to be done, minus the change i need to make for number to match, but the ten teams jereys are done other wise. i'm going to test the jersey's them self before matching up numbers so i can tell if the work ok, needs additional work and number placement ? sre at this point.
