Online Play MESSED UP

I have a huge issue. WHen i go into Online play and go to Session Match and search for a 3 point shoot out or 1 on 1 and find an oppononent it gives me an issue as the atlanta team jersey is showing while i skim through the teams and the jersey stays as atlanta's too even though i picked Peja from New Orleans.

THE MESSED UP PART is when i accept and the game loads it goes into a full 5 MIN lenght game and GUESS WHAT I GET ATLANTA... and its a ranked game so i have no choice but to play it.. Problem is not being fixed still happening over and over.

Anyone else getting these issues? I am a PS2 user.
