Controller Issue..

Don't know if anyone else is having the same problem as me (yes i tried searching) 
but i can't seem to use my controller for the dunk contest or 3pt shootout. I can use it for playing the actual games, practices (dunk), 1on1 etc.. I noticed that i can't select any other option except for "controller1" & "keyboard" on the menu when selecting my participant of the contests. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated, and if i did miss my answer from another topic while searching i apologize.
Well, i tried that little joystick program. Mapped everything from EA's keyboard config to my controller. It allows me to select keyboard on the player screen and use my controler as the keyboard. 2 problems though. Can't use the right analog stick to do ball tosses or the down pad for related reasons. Any suggestions ?

So, have you tried using controller1, or was that a typo?
Controller 1 is what I use to control players with a gamepad in those contests.

Yes, i'm not that stupid
When i select controller1 it doesn't do anything IE i can't move my player at all etc...

What kind of controller do you have? Do you have the drivers installed for it? Did you configure it in-game?

what you have to do is goto a 5v5 practice or 1v1 game file, select a side with your controller and select the configuration that you use. Then press back to the main menu and goto the dunk contest and select controller 1.
The problem with the dunkcontest / 3pt contest is you can select your controller, but you can not select your configuration/

Exactly, and i got Wal-mart el cheapo. It's called dual action Recoil. Basically looks like a PS2 controller and i do have the drivers installed. Like i said, i can do everything but dunk contest/3pt shootout. But anyway, thanks for the advise Jao, i'll give it a shot
