Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

Tiny shooting guards bothering anyone else?

Postby CarrotInk on Thu Nov 09, 2006 4:20 pm

This was pretty common in live 06 also. I don't understand why the majority of shooting guards available for draft each season in dynasty mode are like 6'-6'2". The majority of SGs in the NBA are 6'5" or above. Does this bother anyone else or am I the only one? I always end up drafting SFs and play them at SG. It's pretty stupid on EAs part from a realism standpoint.

Yup, goes to show you what really comes first in EA's books...

Just use DB Commander and set the height to your wishes...

I also hate the fact that a player who is 6'0" and weighs 220 has D or E strength rating while in real life it's hard to imagine one with a rating lower than B-/C+.

I thought EA fixed the problem for 07? Damn, they really blew this one.

I usually just edit them to suit their height ie make 6ft 2 SGs into PGs and edit the height of all those 5ft 10 PGs to be at least 6ft.

I have many SG who are about 6'6...All of the guards who are smaller (6'2, 6'3) are drafted late 2nd round or not all....

I think 5 first round guards were 6'5 or 6'6...heaps of SF and PF

And I noticed there are lots of 6"6' point guard on NBA Live 07. I already drafted 2 and I think there were 1 or 2 more 6"6' point guard which I passed on.

I play triangle offense, so I love them. Otherwise, I just change short SG players into PG. But I wouldn't draft them or scout them.

I haven't had the problem with drafts being crowded with 6"1' SG's it happens yeah... but not in an excaggerated manner i think. There are actually a few SG in the game now who are about that height. David Wesley fx. Speaking of 6"4' PF's how about Charles Barkley? He was always listed as 6"6' but it is commonly known that he's was only about 6"4' (which gives me a better chance of playing multiple positions when i get to the NBA because i'm 6"4' :D haha) I have also read in a lot of articles that Ben Wallace i closer to 6"6 than his listing af 6"9' so...

I am making a draft mod to put real players in the draft so you don't have to worry about Ea's shitty generated rookies. I got the top 20 done so far. If anyone wants to help me test it shoot me a pm.

You must be one of the lucky ones then. This is what i normally get and i'm in my third season of dynasty:

And yes there are SGs in the NBA that are in the 6' range, but they're the minority, which should be portrayed correctly in Live.

I guess Live is shrinking everyone. I mean, how few 7' Centers do you see. I see more of em at SF

I think that once in a while a 6'2" SG is ok but not a bunch of them in the draft. maybe limit to two to four small people or maybe every three years you might see a few 6'2 SG and maybe a 6'4 SF and a 6'6 PF and a 6'8" C but not alot. once in a while a small player is interesting to play small ball just to cause mismatches but not a bunch in one draft. Maybe NBA Live needs me to build the size of the players for example you may see one or two small people in a draft but not a whole gob of them. I would do it like this

PG- 5'5- on up usually up to 6'8"
SG- 6'4- on up usually up to 6'9"
SF- 6'6- on up usually up to 7'1"
PF- 6'8- on up usually up to 7'2"
C- 6'9 on up usually up to 7'6"
