I was wondering if it is possible to change nba live measurement . I rather see the height and weight in meters and kilos respectvely.

Of course it´s not that hard to know that 6,7 is 2,00m and 210pounds is around 100 kilos.. still...

Does anybody know?

I am one of those 90%. The metric system makes more sense if you learn it, I'm sure, but I have no idea. It just wasn't ever taught to me.

What's the point? I'm playing Live for a long time and I got used to it.
I don't like feet because I never like a 6"11' C, but I like a 7"0' C.
If it would be centimeters it would be more precise, this way everyone increase their height by an inch( beside garnett and bosh).
I wouldn't mind if there's a C with 211 cm, but it just doesn't feel that good when it's 6"11'.

hey Al you could install the german version of the game which i bellive is avalibale with every dvd version no matter where you got it from. that changes the systems but it will also change the menu language to german. commentary and speech in the game by the way stay as they are in english versions. so it's your choice: german words bit meters and kilo or english words but feet and pounds

I don't think the metric system works as well - centimeters are too small and meters are too big for measuring height. Whereas feet and inches give us nice cutoffs at 5'0", 6'0", and 7'0". it's a more useful range, whereas with metrics the vast majority of people are just between 1 meter and 2 meters...

Same thing with pounds, to a lesser extent.

Besides, it is NBA live, not FIBA live...

The NBA is an american based association, chances are that all teams under the NBAs jurisdiction will use the american standard. I feel like an idiot though, lol, foriegners know ours, but we as a country were too cocky to learn (or even adapt to) theirs until 15 years ago. And we STILL dont know... God bless the US!

US uses english units while almost the rest of the world uses SI units. if you're having trouble, maybe this will help:

1 inch = 2.54 cm
1 foot = 30.48 cm
1 pound = 0.454 kg or 1 kg = 2.2lb

since this is nba live, we should adapt their units of measurement... even though it's stone age units.

It's something you've been thought. I still find it primitive that we over here are taught them both and some people don't know shit abou the other. IMO metric system is more precise and makes more sense, not measuring by someones feet

The metric system is more precise. The smallest measurment unit in the metric system(when measuring height) is the cm. The smallest for the other is (inch). As mentioned above, 1cm = 0.39 inches. That means if you had a ruler that had only cm and another that had only inches, and you wanted to measure something(say a string of hair) that was 0.39 inches long, then you would have a precise measurement with the cm-ruler, but you would have a very imprecise one with the inches-ruler. Because you would have to guess whether that thing is 0.39' or 0.41' or 0.38' long... you catch my drift. Generally, the smaller your minimum measurment unit, the more precise it is.

I'm kinda glad it doesn't have metric....I've followed NBA for so long now, that I prefer to see it in feet & pounds....when I tell someone my height, I say I'm 6'2", I don't say I'm 187cm....so despite the metric system being more precise, I'd like to see English measurements....

although I think the point of the post, is that this guy wants a player who is 6'4" & 1/2" being taller in the game than someone who is 6'4"....I think more important than this, is to have player's wingspans in the game....Dwayne Wade might be 6'4", but he's got a big wing span for his size....it would be nice to see NBA Live & NBA 2k series implement wingspans into the game, although I think they need to get the core gameplay down pat first....

metric will never show up the the US version.The wingspan is a great idea, though. elton brand is 6-8 with over 7-foot wingspan.

That's actually a great idea. I remember Oliver Miller of the Suns who wasn't that tall but had the longest freaking arms. Same thing for Brand like maceo24 said.

Regarding the metric system, it is definitely more accurate than the foot/inch system. I mean, even if it doesn't make a huge difference, there is something between 6'6'' and 6'7" for example...It's a difference of 2.54cm, which is quite important when you compare how tall people are...
On the other side, I guess pounds are more accurate than kilos, so well...

I really think the metric system is more natural to modern numbers, since like money it's divided into 10 subnumbers (?) while feet etc. are divided into 12 inches. The number 10 is easier to divide and understand.

Americans measure in their system and all their pro sports do this in real life... so I don't see why the game would shift to the metric system. Coming where I come from, I never heard of measuring in feet and inches until I started to follow the NBA... still, I'm not fazed by identifying height as say 6 feet instead of 182 cm... its doesn't bother me.
