07's Saving Grace: Online play

Postby Donatello on Sun Oct 01, 2006 5:34 am

Well, I'm discovering one thing that would probably keep me from demanding a refund on this game.... the online play is finally decent. There IS fatigue, it seems much harder to exploit inbounds pass stealing, the game pace is slower...

Overall, I'm actually quite pleased with playing 07 online.

Excellent call, Donatello. This limits both the PG dominance and the subbing issue, and gives a glimpse into what this game is capable of being. (Y)

Unfortunately for me, I don't enjoy playing basketball games online that much, I prefer playing a dynasty or a season. Good to hear something positive though.

I played a game online, and even though my opponent had a ping of 62 ms, it was still very laggy, and very difficult to play. Was your experience any different, Donatello?

Yep I agree the online play is a big improvement.

I dont play at EASO partly cos of past season cheese games and living in the land of Oz just too much lag.

I only play in an all aussie league and only ever play the game online, playing the cpu is like ppfffttt whatever.

But overall 90% of games so far which would be well over 30 with leagues buds they have all been smooth as.Gameplay just seems so much more realistic playing a human opponent compared to the cpu so much more fun,yet each to their own too.

Also only play online through ip connect.

there are many gameplay problems in online games too
and fatuigue just doesn't work right
oh, and fss is to strong - specially inside scorer - just take yao or dirk and throw fadeaway jumpers from the free throw line - you almost can't miss
o, and dunkers are also to powerful, maybe even inside power players
but that's not really a problem as we can turn it off

lag - well mostly it works smooth, there are some players with troublesome connection when i experience lag

online so far has been great for me too. i only played 4 games, but still. it plays nicely when two gys like realistic gameplay.

power players are too strong, though.

I've played 4 games and lost all of them. (lets not talk about the guy who dropped connection and I got faulted for it!) The first game I lost by 3 points, so that was fine. The next few games I got blown out by people using Phoenix and San Antonio. Due to the lag of online play, 3's are impossible. (well unless you're Steve Nash I guess) My game relies on inside/outside play and it sucks when I can't hit the 3 that I would normally make against the CPU. It's impossible to stop the power big guys even with 3-4 big people guarding them. (Shaq, Marion, Stoudamire, etc) It's great to see a big guy start his dunk just inside the 3 point line and then get a foul called on the defensive guy. (what happened to the lovely outside the half circle rule?) :) I guess I need to stop playing with the Bulls and pick a better NBA Live 07 team. :D I will keep practicing and hoping I can eventually come up with a strategy to win a game. At least one good thing is that it is more realistic than playing the CPU. Nice to not have to put up with the PG driving to the hoop all the time when playing online. (unless your opponent likes to do that sort of thing!)

just a few bugs :/
when you alt tab, the connection is lost.
when the game ends and your oponnent part from the game you cant see the stats of the game.
this will be a problem to online leagues :(

the rest is very good =)
