Dynasty mode= 82 games only.

I just got the game installed..... It looks like dynasty mode is restricted to being an 82 game season. No short seasons, folks.

I'm kind of upset.

Its pretty strange , cuz they know a lot of people like to play short Dynastys...

Its 100% true ?? or just maybe they change the place of the button ( or added a new dynasty settings screen )

For the 'install version'? What exactly do you mean? PC version?

I don't know why they'd change just the PC version to be 82 games only.

I haven't a clue why they'd change ANY version to be 82 games only, come to think of it.

Unless it's in some hidden menu, there isn't currently a way.

thats just weird, if u go on general for 2007 theres a guy who has it and diden't say anything is wrong with the dynasty.

i guess it's more realistic, but hell i don't wanna play 82 games or sim 82 games. Way too much work. I like the offseason as much as the regular season, so this really sucks

Things aren't "grim". It's a small, but rather important feature that EA yet again, suddenly threw out the window, but there are a lot of positive things I've heard about the game so far. I'm sure that a lot of people will still play their dynasties, but it won't last as long since it'll take longer to get to the off-season (my favourite part and it looks even better since they revamped the free agency and drafting).

I'll still be doing a dynasty, although I'll probably sim a lot of unimportant games.

Well, I like the whole pacakage. I like to feel in control of my team man.

I guess if the gameplay is improved as they promised, then I will be happy I guess.

This may sound like a stupid question, but are you sure you can't select a shorter season if you choose to have a random schedule instead of the NBA schedule when you begin a Dynasty? The only reason I ask is that it seemed as though NBA Live 06 didn't feature shorter season lengths in Dynasty Mode either when it first came out and I'm sure the option in 07 when I played it.

The only option is Random or NBA, both generate an 82 game schedule. I've never claimed that I haven't missed something.... but I really can't find an option for it.


edit: I just checked. I went to random, and then clicked on the button, it went straight to the calendar/team staff hiring options. I thought maybe they had moved the season length option to a following screen, but nope.

That's a shame. I prefer 82 game seasons anyway but I know not everyone does; a very strange decision to remove that option.

I think the reason they did it was to add a "sense of realism" to the game. If one was to only play a 29 game season, that would leave a lot more off-days for team activities. Plus, with only a 29 game season, you wouldn't have to manage team fatigue on road trips on such. I think their goal was to make Dynasty Mode much more realistic, and it is hard to argue that they didn't do that by only allowing an 82 game season.

Absolutely, that's the reason I prefer to play/sim 82 game seasons. Some people do prefer to play shortened seasons though.

The game isn't bad, it actually improved realism with defulat sliders so yay. But as for the 82 games i was too disappointed that it would have to take me a year to finish 1 season of my dynasty lol.

I have it for PS2 and its also the same in both Random and Nba Schedule its 82 games. But the reason for this is because they now added some type of "Team practice, team Meeting, Press, Day Off" options on the season. Which i think its good because in a 29 game season it would go by in a flash. But in 82 games, you would make sure you made the right desicion of the "days" that your team really needs.
