I don't really see a problem except the rant. I've purchased a new controller (connects to USB/PS/PS2, 3 in 1!!! ), but I still prefer to play with the keyboard... much more comfortable. That's the stupid thing on EA's part. It seems as if they don't even give a shit about the PC Users anymore. The game is soo damn console orientated it's getting annoying. And at this rate they'll never change it to PC user friendly anymore. Stupid EA...

who the heck is pepe sow? LOL and how in the hell steve hunter and such scored the most points when they have Amare, Marion and Nash and even worst against the world champion - The Spurs. Very unlikely to happen in real life. Not very clever EA.

Those stats are kinda scary but you were the one controlling your team so blame yourself. I guess a good way to justify the game is letting it play CPU vs CPU and see if we see those stats, in case we do then the game is fucked up.

The purpose of a videogame is to give the user the "feel" of being an nba player,wit dat said the AI could only do its best to guard u, however if u find a weakness and start exploiting it,then DONT BLAME anyone but urself......for an example, i have found in one of the playbooks, a certain play dat results in automatic alley-oops, its a really nice playcalling( SF cuts to the bucket after having come off 2 double screens), the AI/CPU can never catch up to u,because the picks are set hard) but u do not see me coming here and posting about "OMG THE AI CANT STOP MY ALLEY-OOPS,I ATTEMPTED 20 ALLEYS AND GOT DEM ALL IN, WAT A STUPID AI" ...the point of playing ball is to involve ur team and not REPEATING THE SAME DAMN PLAY ON OFFENSE EACH TIME DOWN THE FLOOR,mix up ur game, call some fuckin plays, pass the ball, shoot some 3's,wheres ur mid range game? dunk the ball, if u keep DUNKING wit the same player PLEASE DONT BITCH ABOUT IT!! i bet ur one of the ppl who feel really nice after shooting 68% because they kept exploiting rite? for me this game is damn good, ive been averaging about 44% shooting for my NJ team and CPU averages about 47-48% and im happy about dat!!! You're complaining that you can score with one player all the time who isn't a scorer. Don't use him. Just like the people that don't like freestyle superstar. Just don't use it as much. Video games aren't perfect yet, so don't expect realistic play, if you don't try and play realistically.

on top of that you're proving you can score with sow but you lose the game by 20. no wonder you lose if you use Sow as your primary offensive weapon

i also love to play a realistic game wen i play vs cpu, but if i play vs human players they abuse spin move and get an easy hoops inside. wats ur strategy with this?

^^^spin move has been toned down a tad in live06, so i aint sure wether u playing live2005 or live06, anyway to defend the spin move, send out double teams wen playing ur friend, or play a zone defense since hes burning u on man-man defense, maybe u should 2-3 zone or 1-3-1 zone, dat way u can make sure he does not get easy buckets

im playing live2006, he used to do that on live 2005, so its 2 bad it stil the same in 06, ok i'll try the zone defense, tnx

btw:i dont see the logic in it but changing the game speed to like 30 really changes everything in the game,credit to the poster somewhere above me...new ratings patch also makes the game nicer.

I've purchased Live for 10 years without fail, and it seems the same old problems exist in the game. I even bought the horrible 1999 or 2000 edition (I forget which was worse)! During this time, I witnessed no significant increase in game quality; save mild improvements in graphics and updated rosters.

I now play the 2k series as I find the gameplay more realistic and interesting. I have tried spruiking my viewpoint to fellow basketball sim players, but the bottom line is it comes down to personal preference.

I am now of the opinion that these competing game manufacturers are no longer in direct competition with each other, rather, just filling in two separate needs in the market.

Generally, older, purist bball types who look for more of a simulation in gameplay will opt for 2k. Those younger buyers (or those young at heart) who look for dope cross overs and sick dunks, will buy Live. I think I played the dunk comp maybe twice last year. Personally, I think a dunk comp should complement a strong sim as an additional feature, as opposed to being used as a tool to inflate sales of a mediocre sim.

Having said this, I have played neither Live 06 or 2k6, but early indications are not promising; and admittedly, I was tempted to buy Live this year and still am tempted for the purpose of satisfying my curiosity.

However, thus far I have resisted and although 2k6 may in fact turn out to be a coaster, I think after all these years, this will be the first year I pass on Live. But thanks EA for the memories.

you comment is laughable. what is the whole point to ratings if a player who should not score can score 30? if the CPU double teams by star player, should i not use my scrub because he will actually shoot 70% from the field? the game should take ratings into play.

secondly, i think you can tone down the offensive by adjusting the sliders. i have increased the cpu on ball defense and increased the human defensive assist. now my PF and C actually help when the cpu PG tries to dribble to the hoop every time.
