Official Announcement: NBA Live PC: A NLSC Community Update for NBA Live 06

The main part of this mod is a complete retooling of the gameplay and FSS system. While the FSS categories will remain unchanged (at least at first) I have already edited the shooters and inside/outside scorers to have GTMs kinda like 08 (as seen in the two video trailers). These of course need a lot of work and cleaning up but right now it is working pretty good. For the people who did not like FSS it is very easy to remove these abilities and make the game play like 2005 or 08. I did a beta aiact doing this but I will have to remake it before it is release worthy.

Graphics-wise we are doing pretty good since we can use almost everything from 07 and 08. CFs, headshapes, stadiums, courts, backboards and lighting all work without any major converting.


So I guess I should go over some of the general things that made me decide on 06 over the other versions.

And I have begun editing the AIACT with GTMs and some gameplay fixes.



Of the people who responded to this thread 89% of you said you own Live 06 but only 17% of you said you wanted this mod to be for it. We can change it from the FSS dominated game pretty easily and if we want to we can use animations from the PS2 college games or Live 2005/2004. Adding teams is easier, there are tools for editing rosters, jerseys and audio for it, and we can use the tools specifically made for 07/08 on this version as well. We could truly make this game pretty much whatever we wanted it to be. So what do you guys think?

BTW!...in the trailer i saw GTM and SIG shot!...does it mean any player that has FSS SCORER in this MOD can do the GTM?

And maybe this will be usefull, if you are not planning to do it yourself, my NBA Live 05 net animation for 06 (it's not perfect, but still better than EA's 06 broken net animation).

I've never posted much on this forum, but I've really enjoyed some of the patches that you guys have come up with. I own Live 06, so this latest project sounds pretty exciting to me. One thing I would love to see is more retro patches, full of 80's and 90's teams and stadiums. You can never have too much of that stuff.

This is awsome JaoSming, you are truly a mastermind! Hope the gameplay will be the best one out of all the lives, hope there is no PG domination, more teamplay with more passes, elimination of the substitution bug, more plays run and more team strategy for the cpu.One questions tho, Will we need to reinstall NBA Live 06 on our computers in order to use this?

Why are the heads bigger than the bodies?

Those are nice...But it would be better if you could use new lightings like the one which Babylei created for 08 and also if you could put the signature jumpshots and GTMS when Ignatus/Kris/Clydeli discovers the unused moves or even without the unused moves....If you could do that, It'll be very very great and I can say that it's the best patch ever made.....If possible only........I'm not expecting it to happen,just a suggestion....Peace!

another thing: am i wrong or in nba live 06 you weren't allwed to switch between different fss during the game?that's a bad thing with superstars.

i hope this would be compatible to 08 also cus i dont have a nbalive 2006 anymore

Actually, that's a great choice. Live '06 was the only game I got an acceptable dynasty with, and now with updated rosters and all the graphics stuff, that will be great.

Oh yeah, When you're working on the AIAct, make sure you're removing the ball-around-the-back layup, that one happend way too much.

I remember now... I hated this 06 cause I can hookshot from 3 point lane make it... also the unstoppable freestyle layup... damn so unrealistic... especially with the brick body of defender.... cant seem to make a force drive.

Please also make for 08 pretty please....I want the game to be kinda realistic.Also it's for online games..... Direct IP for us is just fine anyhow...
since it has better game mechanics... hope you could make the game mechanics of 08 at 06 and pls remove that freestyle button change it to backdown to avoid abuses

graback, i've already removed the hook shot to something that is a more difficult to hit, and somehow I have already taken care of that layup. And like i said before, there will be an aiact that has FSS removed so with a program like PPjoy you can map your joystick button for backdown.

Still I hope you are hired by EA cause they only cared about the money.... if they hired the entire NLSC team maybe they are twice the richer cause you care what the people wants

the best game was 05 to me cause it was diverse. 06 was good, but missed a couple of things like blocks on jumpers and variety in normal dunk packages. this last part was because of the FSS ofcourse.

a retoooled 06 would be great if the FSS was removed and the packages were like the packages of 2005 with some of the moves of live 06.

live 08 is okay with patches, but doesnt run smooth , the cameras suck and they do weird things like the FSS moves on their own without you wanting them to>>> dirk cant fake close to the basket, cause he shoots the fade away a lot.

i will be looking forward to a retooled live 06 or a retooled live 2005

AND if everything plays well online it should be perfect.
