New PC Spec: 06 Worth it?

Sat Nov 26, 2005 12:36 am

Getting a new PC today and am happy with NBA Live 04. Can the system below handle 06's demands or should I stick with '04?

1GB4

it can pretty much run live '06 with good settings, you have a decent system dude.

definitely a lot better than mine and I pretty much have all the settings set to high

Ok, right on. My last (current) pc was an el cheapo model but it can handle Live 04 with many settings reduced. Just looking to avoid the "Charlie Chaplin" stutter effect during gameplay and was hoping my video card had enough muscle for games. Appreciate the advice before dropping $$$ on the new title. Thanks guys.

decent system indeed, you should run nba pretty smooth with that setup. X600 is a decent card. have fun!

Indeed. I think it was originally from a New Yorker magazine article in '91.

Unfortunately didn't get to play with this new toy over the weekend. UPS was a no-show on Friday. I still can't figure out how they can get a package from Tenn to Seacacus NJ (15 miles from my home) in 10 hours and then it takes 8 days to get it from Seacaucus to my door. Granted one of the business days last week was a holiday, but lol.

Thanks to those that reassured me on the video card. I'm fairly clueless as to what is powerful enough these days.
