Restarting?

Postby FC2000 on Mon Oct 10, 2005 8:15 pm

Hi my specs are as follows:

Win XP
Intel P4 Processor 3.0 GHz
512MB RAM
80 GB Hard Drive
Radeon 9550 Vid Card

After I install the game the first time I play its fine. However, after that, every subsequent time I play NBA Live 06 (and only while I'm in the game, even if I'm just in the menu) my computer randomly reboots. Sometimes 5 min in, sometimes a little later.

I've tried reinstalling, and only the first time works fine. After the first time it reboots. It's very annoying and I can't even finish one game. Help pls?

Go to control panel - system - advanced - startup & recovery settings and uncheck "automatically restart" under System Failure.

Now, instead of rebooting you will get the blue screen of death. On the bottom there will be the name of driver/file that causes the problem. This can be anything; a filename or something like IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

Try playing a few times and see if the name on the bottom is always the same, or if it changes.

Let me know what name it is.

This kinda thing happened to me with 05. Usually the fan is playing up and cant keep up, so the system reboots. Due to the fact that NBA Live 06 uses 90-100% itll reboot due to the computer heating up. If you can hear the fan going really fast or its playing up, thats probably your problem.

install speedfan to monitor you cpu temperature and set it to log the stats so you can see temps after it rebooted.
