My Clippers Dynasty: Kaman for Curry?

Postby Devin112 on Tue Sep 27, 2005 8:13 pm

I'm considering this trade, but wanted some input.

Curry 75 vs Kaman 69

We all know Curry's situation with his heart and the fact that no team is really going after him. He's considering signing the Bulls one year tender and then bolting.

Kaman has some potential and is a pretty agile 7 footer.

What do you guys think?

yep, it is very plausible....maybe toss in a draft pick to even it up if you want....

I probably wouldn't do it myself due to not wanting to stock my team too quickly, but given the circumstances, it is very plausible....

yeah. It's a pretty realistic trade. a draft pick would make it more realistic. don't know if you can trade a draft pick that early in 06 though

the pick sounds good.

I agree with ya about stocking the team too quickly, I'll try to play with Kaman as long as I can.

But let me clue you guys in on my thinking.

Brand is a great rounder, and his block rating is good, but at only 6-8 he really doesn't get too many blocks in my dynasties unless I play him. I usually play the outside defense mostly and usually let the cpu control the interior defense. His offensize game is great (Y)

Kaman, not a good defender, blocker or scorer.

I don't want superstar players, I might trade Kaman for Przybilla cuzz he's a great blocker and defender.

Curry's D kinda sucks, but his offensive game might even things out.

yeah, Przybilla might be a good fit and you might be able to squeeze a little bit more out of them....

edit: it would be nice to get in a guy whose solely their for boards and blocks considering all the other scoring options you have....definitely a better fit than Curry IMHO

X, can you be my realism consultant? How much do you charge?

Seriously, I think i'm going to need your help and stamp of approval (Y) Need you to keep me on the straight and narrow.

This is my first dynasty so I trying to avoid big mistakes.

 sure, np....

I think what a lot of readers like (well at least in mine it seemed) was a bit of realism....whether it be trades, rosters and stats....I personally often can't get interested in dynasties that are unrealistic as I don't see the fun in super-teams....if you're going to have a super-team, build it up like the Pistons, Suns or Spurs, not like the East or West All-Stars....

but I'm sure you'll be alright....

EDIT: and you don't want to have your team stocked with scorers as you can never get every player "their numbers" and touches and PT

Clippers probably dont want an offensive minded guy at center, they have plenty of offense, and as you said Curry's D sux.

That'd be my objection.

Yea, they sound a bit more realistic... I think Portland would take a gamble on Curry with their current youth movement... Indiana might do it if they really felt they'd win a title with Curry, Diop and Woods you can probably do better than...

I say stick with Kaman! For one, Curry is just an undersized try hard shaq, who cant play. Hes had so many chances to prove himself, but hasnt done it.
Kaman will continue to grow and grow, and is a great player on Defence(in the game mainly), and his offence is pretty good too.

if you are going to trade Kaman, I would personally not want anyone but Przybilla out of those guys....otherwise keep Kaman

Pryzbilla sounds good, give Gadzuric a try too. :D
If you want to keep it realistic, here what not to do: http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic26074.php (it's a good dynasty but not too realistic)

wanna see an unrealistic dynasty? 2moro ill post my atlanta hawks roster
it owns though...

C: Ming
PF: Bogut
SF: Maggette
SG: Reggie Miller
PG: Paul Piece

Bench (just some - dont remember all)
Milicic (backup for bogut)
Lindsay Hunter (backup for paul)

only have 5 original members of hawks in the team :)
this has all been done without chaning any players position (eg. pg to c, to a team that needs c)
best trade was josh smith for ming

Yeah I agree with you guys, Pryzbilla is probably the most attractive (no homo) at this point. EB is my go2guy in the paint I just need a center who can board and block shots.

Kaman is a cool guy though, I like having him on th team. I'd rather not trade starters but his defense sucks. I'll wait to see how the season starts and see whether I can hire a coach who can work on him.

from that dynasty ur talkign about-

lol...if you can't beat 'em, get him to join ya...

I laughed so hard when I read that a couple of weeks ago.

It was a fun dynasty to read though. (Y)

I would do it, I think Kaman will be a bust, maybe good but I think Curry would be good for Short Term, Kaman obviously Long Term. If you want Young Talent Kaman (Thats what I would do) but its always good to have a good back up PF/C on your team. I say stick with Kaman, although hes an ugly looking bastard :D

Kaman is good! Train him with the assistant coach for 4 weeks all on defense. Keep doing it all season and you will enjoy having Kaman on the Clips. I also run the Clippers in a dynasty, but Kaman comes off the bench. I have the default lineups with Brand starts at center and Wilcox starts at power forward.
