not to be picky......but the skating effect is still there. Watch the 2nd video, Mavs on the offense, Stackhouse making circles like he's skating on the top of the key before passing the ball to Dampier.
And right after that, watch also Billups sliding from left to the right after receiving the in-bound pass.
Man it looks bad!

EA is more concern in improving their graphics than anything else, it seems.

i know, only thing that looks like it changed was improving the graphics a whole lot.

Out of curiousity, how come the PC version of the game can't achieve XBOX 360 visual effects? It would really blow my mind away if it was like that on PC.

ppl are blowing this skating issue outta proportion, listen wen im playing the game i barely see any of the skating issues ppl are so concerned about, geez its a videogame and they cant get everything right,ok?

Actually the skating is horrible...it's made even worse by the players looking so realistic and the fact that they can move all over the place without the ball ever hitting the ground...it's really pathetic, considering all the advances they have made in other areas
and it's not that they can't fix it, but they won't...this way they have people buying the game every year hoping they finally fixed all these problems from like 4 versions ago..
if you make the perfect basketball game then you can't sell the new version.
If you've ever played ea's nhl title, honestly, they move exactly the same

im not experiencing any HUGE skating problems on my xbox version,i don tknow maybe if its really dat bad on any other system

can a brother get a link?

You don't notice it as much ingame but it's definately there. Go into replay at just about any time and you'll see players running at full speed, but only moving at walking speeds. You'll see players running forward, but moving sideways. Especially in the paint, you will see players' feet mangling in all directions non stop until you do something like shoot or dunk. I think it's not a matter of EA not fixing it, it's that EA doesn't know HOW. The way the game engine runs, it's basically which direction = which animations. The animations or the speed doesn't really rely on how many steps the players are taking. So players don't run step by steps, they "skate" at a certain speed, accompanied by a running animation. Therefore, we will see some animations that don't fit in certain situations.

I bet you Ea is going to fix it in 2007. They didnt really have time to do anything this year except make the game look better.
