ATL Hawks Suggestions and help needed

Postby socompsycho on Mon Nov 28, 2005 2:45 am

Alright i've decided since there are now roster updates out to start a dynasty with the Atlanta Hawks. I noticed that the player who died before the season started is still on their roster for some reason. Hes currently my starting center and i'd like to change that. For the most part i think the team will be ok if i can get a good or at the very least a defensive center. I'm thinking about signing a free agent center to get me through the season. I'm thinking Dale Davis will be the best bet since he appears to be the best center in FA with good defensive and offensive rebounding skills. Should i try and sign Davis or is there a better option?

I'm a complete moron when it comes to basketball so i'm going to need some help setting up my lineup.

Roster:
J.Collier (dead in real life)
A.Harrington
J.Smith
J.Childress
T.Delk
M.Williams
B.Diaw
D.Smith
R.Ivy
T.Gugliotta
T.Lue
K.Willis
M.Stewart

Thanks for the help.

Well thats odd. i could have sworn i just downloaded the roster updates. i guess i didn't load them when i started the dynasty. i knew something was wrong. Although ron Artest is now in the game whereas i hadn't seen him before.

I'd like to keep things fairly realistic. Yao for josh smith doesn't seem realistic to me but then again i may be wrong.

well look socompsycho why not realistic?T-mac SG Stromile Swift PF.T-Mac just plays in that position sometimes. Also Houston has a substitution center from Afrika.Emm.. forgot his name well he`s an inside stopper. So it would be realistic if you would trade Josh for Yao.

But if you don`t like it try Josh Chilldress for Marcus Camby(denver Nuggets)
Nuggets don`t have a good SG so try maybe.Just watch the salaries.

i dont think they would because if they traded away yao, all they got at centre would be dikembe, who is really old

they use stro at center if you take away yao.

it isnt that unrealistic, houston releases yao at the end of the season sometimes.
however, with the updated rosters im not sure that houston still want josh smith... can always give it a try

For your Hawks don't trade Josh Smith!!! He's a great PF, not SF. Look at his stats...they're similar to those of Stro Swift...but he's younger. And if you put him at PF you can free the space for Williams that, in the game, is a better SF (look at the FG ratings).
I'd trade Childress for Nene (i think it's realistic, they're both young and almost of the same overall rating) and go with:
Nene
Smith
Williams
Johnson
Salim Stoudamire

You can also trade Harrington for some backup or for a better PG if you like...

Hope my opinion will help you...
