You definatley need some kinds of controller to play this game...

I have a Thrustmaster and it works great.

Logitech Dual Action is fine. Some people complain about it breaking easily and malfunctioning. Unless you just mash the controller I wouldn't worry about it. Almost two years ago I bought two of them (only $40 USD), about 2 weeks ago one of the analogs on one stopped working perfectly. But I think anyone on this forum would probably be able to afford $20 every two years. My other one still works great.

So get it. Because it will be better for you, and I will hear one less cheap bastard complaining about 'Live isn't made for a keyboard player'. I hate that. You wouldn't want to be on my bad side.

I would not recommend the Logitech Dual Action. Lots of people like it and it works for them, but others say the same thing I'm about to say. The controller breaks. Or doesn't work. It doesn't let you go one way or even forces you the other way sometimes. Or the analog sticks just don't work.

What I would suggest is getting a Play Station controller and an adaptor. At Radio Shack there's this adaptor specifically for this. It's like $10.00 and works perfectly. There might even be a cheaper one on ebay or something. You can get a ps2 controller pretty cheap somewhere too and whallah, you got yourself a sturdy controller and adaptor. I got my adaptor from rs 3-4 years ago and it has not had one problem at all. Whatever you do, good luck and have fun.

Stay away from the dual action, its rather hit or miss whether yours will malfuction or not after a short while. Mine did, the right analog stick was stuck going one way. If you dont have the PS2 option, try a thrustmaster; they're very sturdy and the same price as the logitech.
