The reason they don't kill the animal before skinning it alive is to keep it fresh.
The animal is going to be eaten or sold to be eaten.

The whole process of skinning the animal took less than a minute, would taking another 30 seconds beforehand to kill it really mean that much?

Is that addressed to me and others in the thread? If it is, I would be terribly offended.
To repeat myself, yes, it is to keep the meat fresh. The more alive it is before being served the more fresh it is. The Japanese do it with their fish, so it's no surprise if the Chinese? do it.
They think that once the heart/bloodflow stops, the "freshness" quickly deteriorates, so 30 seconds is a big deal for these killers.

I actually read the damn post... As a Chinese myself, I feel ashamed for their brutality and also the usual weird stupidity. The part where the living skeleton moves and shit, that's scary and fucked.. Imagine the pain... I couldnt stand the pain when my nail got torn off already, but their entire skin is ripped off... Sick.

You shouldn't feel ashamed, every culture has their weird things. In my country, probably up until early 1900's, people used to eat each other. I neither feel weird when fish are skinned alive, I don't know why, maybe it's because fish don't really seem "alive" like other animals do.
